upci om ng events and retreats The Festivities of Our Lady of Fatima’s 100th anniversary here at OLHSC CONTINUE... Outdoor Processions! Join us on First Saturday evenings in September and October (Sept. 2 and Oct. 7). Fr. GianMaria DiGiorgio, OFM,Cap. from St. Padre Pio’s home in San Giovanni Rotondo will lead us in an evening reminiscent of Fatima evenings. Confessions (5:30pm to 6:30pm), 7pm Mass (NOT Sunday obligation) followed by a candle- light Rosary procession with a Fatima statue. Bring your prayer groups, your rosary groups and your family to honor the Blessed Mother on her requested First Saturdays. We are honored to receive the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima here as the first stop of many Cincinnati area churches on Friday Sept. 8. Her stay begins at 8 am and concludes after the 7:15 pm Mass celebrated by Fr. Eric Bowman. Throughout the day we will have talks about the statue and Fatima, rosaries and time for individual prayer. Please see the OLHSC calendar for a detailed schedule of the day. The 100th Anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun and Our Lady’s last appearance in Fatima is Oct. 13. Help us celebrate this event! Our schedule begins at 6pm with a talk on Our Lady of Good Hope, the first apparition of the Blessed Mother approved in the USA. This is followed by an outdoor Rosary Procession with the newly dedicated statue of Our Lady of Fatima and Marian hymns. Families, especially children, are very welcome to precede the statue. Children are encouraged to wear their First Communion outfits. Holy Mass follows celebrated by Fr. DiGiorgio OFM, Cap. with a special homily on OL Fatima and the Miracle of the Sun. Light refreshments will be served afterwards with a viewing of a clip of the Miracle of the Sun. See OLHSC’s calendar for times and details. St. Padre Pio’s Feast Day Celebration at OLHSC on Saturday, Sept. 23 with Fr. GianMaria DiGiorgio, OFM Cap. The program will include a light reception between 5:30-6:30 pm where St. Pio devotional items will be available for a suggested offering while a 25-minute film on the life of St.Pio is running. At 6:45 pm we will dedicate a new statue of St. Pio donated to the Center by Fr. DiGiorgio followed by an outdoor procession with the statue and St. Pio’s relics to honor him on his feast day. Holy Mass follows at 7:30 pm with a homily by Fr. DiGiorgio on Padre Pio. After Mass, you may receive a bless- ing with the Relics of St. Pio and the opportunity for individual veneration of the relics. Each person will receive a holy card with a 3rd class relic of St. Pio. Retreat: “The Triumph” Father David Gunter, MIC is the retreat master for the 4th annual women’s retreat sponsored by OLHSC on October 27 – 29, 2017. In this special year of the Blessed Mother, Fr. Gunter will give his witness to how he came to experience the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and an in-depth introduction to understand the “Triumph” of the Immaculate Heart. Father will examine apparitions to Lucia dos Santos, Catherine Labouré and Sister Faustina, as well look at Scripture to elaborate on what heaven has been telling us.
