Eleanor Davis

Gilbert Hernandez, born in 1957, is an award-winning cartoonist of the

independent comic series, Love and Rockets (along with his brother, Jaime

Hernandez) which has been published by Fantagraphics for the last 32 years. From 1983 to 1996, Gilbert produced the now legendary Palomar saga, collected in

the graphic novels Heartbreak Soup and Human Diastrophism, and considered to be

one of the dening bodies of literature of its era. His latest collection is Luba and

Her Family and the stand alone, Julio’s Day.

Sarah Becan is a comics artist, author, illustrator and designer based in Chicago, Sarah Becan and the creator of “I Think You’re Sauceome”, a food-centric autobiographical

Mandie Brasington is a recent graduate from the Minneapolis College of Art and

Design (MCAD) who has been self-publishing for four years. Her work focuses on a

female perspective and often deals with themes of trauma and abnormal

Andy’s comics are abstract yet playful, often times dealing with very adult themes

Obsessive Comic Dames (O.C.D.), Alexis is a Minnesota-based illustrator and comic

book artist. As a mixed person of Hispanic descent, Alexis frequently creates

characters from a similar background to make it accessible to readers and easy to

talk about. She also appreciates the way comics allow a level of intimacy between Alexis Cooke strangers and describes a goal of her wok as “providing a distant comfort.” While people struggling with anxiety or depression may avoid direct contact, Alexis hopes

roots are in Portland’s underground and art comics community, starting in April

2012. With a strong love of interdisciplinary performance and storytelling, and a

Rumi was born in Kyoto, Japan and received her MFA degree in illustration from

Savannah College of Art and Design in 2014. She moved to many dierent cities

with her family before she was ten, so traveling became a part of her life. Her

illustrations and comics are often inspired by landscapes in memory, creatures

that inhabit those landscapes, and dierent places that become one in dreams.
