These lines by Winifred C. Marshall resonated Department of Journalism & Mass 25 in almost all corners of the Campus when artistes Communication from different corners of the world joined us for Cultural Ensemble of Hues – an international painting Department of Computer Science 26 symposium hosted by the Department of Visual and Performing Arts for over ten days. Adding colours and Department of Good Governance & 28 life to Ensemble was yet another edition of the Annual Public Policy Students’ Festival – Orion 2019. Filled indeed with fun and frolic, this year’s Orion was yet another feather in Department of Yogic Science 30 the cap for the University, be it the scintillating rock music by Stebin Ben or the ramp walk by the students.

There also were moments of flashback– of Circulation: Mr. Raghunath Dash how beautifully this place transformed into one of the Design & Layout: Mr. Arun Kumar Mishra happiest campuses of the country. In fact, all of this has taken quite an effort over the years and it goes without Readers are requested to email their feedback to: saying this would not have been possible without the [email protected] dynamic leadership Dr. Nand Lal provided us as the Vice-Chancellor of this esteemed University. But C Sri Sri University then, as all nice things come to an end, so has been his tenure. February 2019 saw us bidding farewell to our beloved Vice-Chancellor after an illustrious tenure at Sri Sri University.

The ‘Best of the East and Best of the West’ was once again seen when we hosted a high level Norwegian delegation to celebrate the Spirit of Sports as a Way of Life at SSU. We were also graced by the presence of H.E. Mohamed Moncef Marzouki, Former President of Tunisia as a part of this delegation. SSU MUN 2.0 virtually became an international forum in which a large number of students from different parts of the country enthusiastically participated and went back enriched. This was followed by the Indo-Canadian Leadership Dialogue at the University in which eminent Canadian educationists, communication experts and life coaches participated and gave insights into different dimensions of leadership. The enthusiastic spirit which made January so special was no less in March and we closed our first quarter with a celebration of the International Women’s Day and adding to our list of achievements, yet another award – India’s Education Excellence Award 2018.

(January 05, 2019) FCMS organised a Workshop on “Climate Change and Water Conservation: Insights for Business Leaders” in association with Climate Reality Project, USA (India) and SPARSH (A CSR initiative of JK Paper Ltd.). This workshop provided a platform to discuss the challenges and solutions related to climate change and water conservation particularly for business practitioners. Workshop: Climate and Business (February 05, 2019) FCMS Workshop on “Climate and Business” in association with Climate Reality Project, (USA) India and SPARSH (A CSR initiative of JK Paper Ltd.) in which Mr. Aditya Pundir, Country Manager, The Climate Reality Project India, Prof. Prafulla Kumar Dhal, GM, JK Paper Ltd. & Head CSR spoke on the importance of atmosphere and the Western approach towards rivers, land and trees as capital and after the Apollo mission photo of earth, 1970, famously known as the Blue marble, how they changed their approach. He mainly spoke on: • Elements of agriculture and its relation with nature • Low cost input production at farm level • The significance of the role of indigenous cows in organic agriculture • A business model of a Goshala • Practical demo of bio-fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides

INSIGHT | 7 National Marketing Conclave: Marketing Shift in Retail Industry

(February 15, 2019) FCMS hosted its 5th National Marketing Conclave “The Marketing Shift in Retail Industry” with the theme of “Tug of War”. Eminent Speakers on the occasion included Mr. Balraj Kar, COO, Hyperthings, Mr. Anand Mishra, Founder & CEO, Grozip, Mr. Biswajit Swain, Founder, Hastika Handicrafts Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Srustijeet Mishra, Founder, RiDik & Co-Founder, ChacTea, Dr. Anita Sabat, Director, Sabat Export Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Kar spoke about how with innovation a business can grow and become sustainable. Mr. Biswajit Swain threw light on how data analytics is used by current successful companies to get a detailed idea about their customers’ behavior pattern. Mr. Mishra shared his experience with converting his ideas into successful startups. (February 14, 2019) Mr. Ranen Das, PGDM, IIMK delivered a guest lecture on New Design Technology and provided insights into patterns in life which help us develop ideas and come back with solutions that are simple and are for the betterment of society.

(February 27, 2019) Prof. Jagannath Panda, delivered a guest lecture on “Entrepreneurship” in which he spoke on the meaning of entrepreneurship, abilities of an entrepreneur, and the managerial skills required to become a successful entrepreneur.
