Amado y odiado con la misma intensidad y en proporciones muy parejas, Dražen Petrović ha terminado siendo mucho más que un simple jugador de baloncesto. Su presencia en la cancha, sus provocaciones continuas y su personalidad le convirtieron pronto en un líder. Los avatares de su vida deportiva (jugó en el Madrid después de haber sido su verdugo) y su prematura muerte a los 28 años en un absurdo accidente de coche, cuando estaba en el mejor momento de su carrera deportiva, triunfando en los Nets, hacen que hoy su recuerdo forme parte de la leyenda.
