The SAF/EST App It will not function on any other device such as an iPhone, Samsung, Huawei etc. Refer https://www.catphones.com/en-gb/products/ for more details on preferred CAT devices.

CAT device usage after SAF/EST App installation The CAT S60 or S61 device may be used for normal cellular functions after SAF/EST App installation, but it’s not recommended as you may need to restart the SAF/EST App and redo the calibration if the SAF/EST App was minimized during a cellular call or message transmission (WhatsApp, Messenger, Email, Skype etc). We recommend a dedicated device for scanning purposes only. It is recommended that the CAT mobile device be used as a dedicated Elevated Skin Temperature scanning device during normal scanning procedures, as incoming transmissions will interrupt your scanning session. The use of the device as an Elevated Skin Temperature scanning device as well as cellular device may lead to recalibration requirements and complications. It is further recommended that in application “Notifications” be disabled if the CAT device is used as a scanning device and cellular device.

Android operating system version The following Android operating system versions are recommended for the CAT S60 and CAT S61 mobile devices respectively:

• CAT S60 - Android 6 (Marshmallow) or latest • CAT S61 - Android 9 (Pie) or latest

Battery usage The SAF/EST App permanently utilizes the FLIR Lepton 2.5 thermal camera during operation and may drain the battery faster during normal usage. It is recommended that an alternative power source such as a portable power bank or electrical wall socket charger be connected to the CAT scanning device.

Internet connectivity The CAT mobile device must be connected to the internet with an active data connection to download or transmit data as indicated below. • Download the SAF/EST App or receive any upgrades of the SAF/EST App. • Transmit any scanning data to the SAF/EST Dashboard for real-time monitoring and reporting purposes. Setup & Configuration (before scanning)

After installing the SAF/EST App, what must I do next before using the SAF/EST App to scan people? Make sure the system is setup and configured correctly. Please pay special attention to the physical setup required such as mounting height, distance from target, uniform backgrounds and external heat sources that might influence accurate scanning.

Uniform background definition It is recommended to use a background that is uniform (solid wall) that does not contain windows, paintings, mirrors, reflecting surfaces or doorways that might negatively affect scanning performance. The examples below indicate a good background for scanning purposes and contains the following technical attributes: • Uniform background. • Foot marking clearly visible indicating position for scanning. • Controlled environment and no external temperature fluctuations or sources.

Hardware and equipment requirements as part of the SAF/EST system We recommend you make use of the following equipment as part of the SAF/EST App setup: • Tripod or SAF/EST stand to mount the CAT S60 or S61 device for stability purposes as the scanning device cannot be moved or relocated during scanning procedures (if moved or relocated, recalibration of the device is essential). The tripod and scanning system must be stationary during scanning. • A uniform and consistent background or backdrop. Avoid any hot surface such as a window, doorway or entrance or foreign heat source (air conditioner, heaters etc). • Foot markings on the floor to indicate to people exactly where to stand during scanning. The foot markings should be 1500mm from the SAF/EST scanning system. • Adequate ambient lighting for the SAF/EST App to identify people in front of the scanner. Avoid dark and unilluminated scanning areas.

Outdoor use of the SAF/EST App and system It is not recommended using the system outdoors in an uncontrolled environment.

Direct sunlight and external heat sources Any external heat source will negatively affect the performance and results of your scanning. Avoid external heat sources such as open doors, windows, air conditioners etc.

4. SAF/EST App Startup and Calibration

SAF/EST startup and first-time usage We recommend you read the setup guide and manual thoroughly to understand the physical setup required for good scanning results. Please refer to the SAF/EST Startup Guide Documentation. It is important to setup and configure the system correctly before calibration and scanning.

Opening the SAF/EST App on a CAT device Once installed, select the SAF/EST App under your phone’s installed apps. The SAF/EST App will automatically open after clicking on the SAF/EST App icon. Refer SAF/EST App Icon below.

System navigation and main menu • Select the “Settings” button (its located in the bottom left-hand corner of the SAF/EST App screen) and select the appropriate settings for your scanning application and requirements. For more Settings detail, please refer to Section 5 below.

• Return to the main screen by clicking on the return arrow at, top left-hand corner of the screen.

• On the main screen, the SAF/EST App software will require you to complete the calibration process before you may use the system for scanning. Please refer to Item Error! Reference source not found. below for detailed calibration instructions.

Guidance on system setup: Follow the recommendations below for a good system setup.

• Mount the S61 or S60 on a tripod or stand with the camera lens at approximately 1.5m from the ground, mounted vertically for checkpoint scanning. • Mark a position on the floor (using tape or footprint markings) at 1.5m from the camera. • Ideally position the camera at a thoroughfare where there is a clean, uncluttered background and where there is no direct sunlight cast onto the human subject or objects around them. • Open the SAF/EST application on the S61 and use the “mode” button to select calibration mode. Identify an individual who is known to have a normal core temperature (ideally measured with a timpanic in ear thermometer). Initialise calibration – operator will enter distance parameter and the camera will automatically gather and analyse 10 images of the subject and by this establish a base line temperature as “normal” in this environment and distance. • Once calibration is complete, use the “Mode” button again to select “Checkpoint” mode. This mode will be constantly scanning for a human head and once detected, will initiate thermal scanning and heat pattern analysis. The subject is encouraged to pause at the mark for a couple of seconds while this happens before being directed to proceed, assuming a negative EST measurement. • If required, the app can be set to “Crowd” mode. The intention here is to measure groups rather than individuals. In Crowd mode it is recommended that the camera is mounted horizontally to allow a greater number of heads in the field of vision. For most applications, the “Checkpoint” mode should be the default. • Back end portal will gather geo-located and time stamped data from all alarm incidents and provide a tool for statistical analysis of health trends. Final data presentation configuration still to be determined.

SAF/EST App Terms and Conditions Important Information

The SAF/EST application (”the App”) has been designed for use on the Cat S60 and Cat S61 only. It is not suitable for use on any other device. Users should always follow the instructions for use accompanying the App. The App may not work as intended unless users strictly adhere to these instructions. The App is not designed for, and therefore is not suitable for, taking absolute temperature measurements. The App should only be used as one aspect of a wider temperature screening program. The App can assist in the identification of an individual that shows higher than average skin surface temperature in relation to a calibrated “normal”. We call this an elevated skin temperature (EST). Calibration involves measuring persons known to be not exhibiting an EST in order to establish the “normal”. The App is not capable of determining whether any individual has a normal skin temperature, an EST, or otherwise, until it has been calibrated. The App does not find individuals experiencing Covid-19/Coronavirus symptoms, and therefore it cannot be used to identify, diagnose, screen for, treat or prevent Covid- 19/Coronavirus, or any other physical or medical condition. The App is not suitable for, or certified for, use in the medical industry or for medical purposes. An EST is only one possible symptom of illness, and there are various reasons why an individual may exhibit an EST which are not related to their physical or medical condition. Further enquiries should be made following medically recommended protocols if a person exhibiting an EST is detected by the App. There is no way to thermally detect an infected individual who does not exhibit an EST, and only a qualified and licensed medical practitioner can determine if an individual exhibiting EST is experiencing any abnormal medical condition. Therefore, an indication given by the App that an individual is not exhibiting an EST does not provide an assurance that the individual in question is not experiencing an abnormal medical condition. Users should comply with any local laws, including without limitation privacy laws and laws governing the use of surveillance tools when using the App.

Calibration of the SAF/EST App We recommend the following process when Calibrating the systems: • Select 5 heathy adult individuals to complete the calibration. • Start the App and wait for the 10min warmup period to complete (the SAF/EST will not allow any functionality such as scanning during the warmup period). • When ready, click on the “Start Calibration” button in the middle of the screen. Have a look out for the five empty round circles at the top of your screen. • Ask the first person to stand stationary in front of the scanning device facing the camera directly. Remember – no head gear or spectacles! • When successful, the scanner device will emit an audible sound as well as a visual indication. Ask the person to exit the scanning area as quick and efficiently as possible. Look for the 5 round circles to the top of your screen. You will now notice the first circle contains an icon of a human, indicating that you have successfully calibrated one person. Now 4 more to go. • Repeat the step above with the four remain calibration individuals. Ensure that you receive a positive audible alarm as well as a filled circle (top of your screen) after each of the calibration scans. • Once successfully calibrated, the system will automatically exit the calibration mode and enter “Checkpoint Mode”. You have successfully completed the calibration and ready to start using the system and scan people.

Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Click the “Start Calibration” button First person enters scanning area First person calibration complete, proceed with scanning second person

Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Second person enters the scanning Third & forth person enters the Fifth and final person enters the area and completes calibration scanning area and completes scanning area. If calibrated correctly, calibration system will indicated “Calibration finished” as indicated below

Calibration requirements We recommend 5 healthy individual adults for accurate calibration.

Recalibration of device We recommend recalibration of the SAF/EST system if the following occurred:

• If the device has moved or knocked over during normal operation. • If the calibration distance and the actual scanning distance of 1,5 meters (recommended distance) is not the same. • SAF/EST App was minimized due to an incoming cellular voice call, SMS, email etc. • If scanning results are erratic and inconsistent.
