Received 10 May 2009; Revised 23 October 2009; Accepted 2 November 2009 ABSTRACT: The many glacial cirques in the mountains of Romania indicate the distribution of former glacier sources, related to former climates as well as to topography. In the Transylvanian Alps (Southern Carpathians) cirque floors rise eastward at 0.714 m kmÀ1, and cirque aspects tend ENE, confirming the importance of winds from some westerly direction. There is a contrast between two neighbouring ranges: the Fa˘ga˘ras¸, where the favoured aspect of cirques is ENE, and the Iezer, where the tendency is stronger and to NNE. This can be explained by the Iezer Mountains being sheltered by the Fa˘ga˘ras¸, which implies precipitation-bearing winds from north of west at times of mountain glaciation. Palaeoglaciation levels also suggest winds from north of west, which is consistent with aeolian evidence from Pleistocene dunes, yardangs and loess features in the plains of Hungary and south- western Romania. In northern Romania (including Ukrainian Maramures¸) the influence of west winds was important, but sufficient only to give a northeastward tendency in cirque aspects. -

I, no.1, 2006, pp 31-60 SETTLEMENT HISTORY AND SUSTAINABILITY IN THE CARPATHIANS IN THE EIGHTEENTH AND NINETEENTH CENTURIES David TURNOCK* ∗ Geography Department, The University Leicester LE1 7RH, U.K. Abstract: As part of a historical study of the Carpathian ecoregion, to identify salient features of the changing human geography, this paper deals with the 18th and 19th centuries when there was a large measure political unity arising from the expansion of the Habsburg Empire. In addition to a growth of population, economic expansion - particularly in the railway age - greatly increased pressure on resources: evident through peasant colonisation of high mountain surfaces (as in the Apuseni Mountains) as well as industrial growth most evident in a number of metallurgical centres and the logging activity following the railway alignments through spruce-fir forests. Spa tourism is examined and particular reference is made to the pastoral economy of the Sibiu area nourished by long-wave transhumance until more stringent frontier controls gave rise to a measure of diversification and resettlement. FIELD TRIP 1 – duration 3 days. Transportation: bus Tuesday August 26, 2014 - Thursday August 28, 2014 IGCP609 Field trip on Cretaceous cyclic sedimentation in the Eastern Carpathians. Lower Cretaceous Urgonian/platform facies, Lower Cretaceous black shales Deep-water sections with Cretaceous cyclic CORBs Degree of difficulty and weather: low, most of the stops are beside or near roads, although a couple of short (less than 1 km) hikes will be involved. Sturdy footwear is recommended. First day 26th of August Bucharest-Focsani-Lepsa Outcrops displaying Lower Cretaceous black shales, followed by Albian up to Coniacian red shales will be examined in the Putna Valley Basin (Marginal Fold Nappe, Vrancea Halfwindow). Albian black shales and red shales at Lepsa Turonian red shales in Putna Valley Overnight in Lepsa Second day 27th of August Lepsa-Covasna-Cernatu-Brasov-Bran-Dambovicioara Covasna Valley: mid Cretaceous black shales and red shales; mid-Cretaceous anoxic events; Upper Cretaceous red variegated marlstones (Outer Moldavides, Tarcau Nappe). Visit of the medieval Braşov town. Braşov known as Kronstadt in German óor Brass in Hungarian is the 7th largest city in Romania. The town is located almost in the centre of Romania (176 km from Bucharest), being surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains. The city provides a mix of wonderful mountain scenery in the nearby Poiana Braşov (a renown winter resort) and medieval history with German influences in the old town. Small outcrops of Urgonian rocks could be seen in the town. -

The largest collection of freshwater crayfish of Romania is preserved in “Grigore Antipa” National Museum of Natural History of Bucharest. The collection consists of 426 specimens of Astacus astacus, A. leptodactylus and Austropotamobius torrentium. Résumé. La plus grande collection d’écrevisses de Roumanie se trouve au Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle «Grigore Antipa» de Bucarest. Elle comprend 426 exemplaires appartenant à deux genres et trois espèces, Astacus astacus, A. leptodactylus et Austropotamobius torrentium. Key words: Astacidae, Romania, museum collection, catalogue. INTRODUCTION The first paper dealing with the freshwater crayfish of Romania is that of Cosmovici, published in 1901 (Bãcescu, 1967) in which it is about the freshwater crayfish from the surroundings of Iaºi. The second one, much complex, is that of Scriban (1908), who reports Austropotamobius torrentium for the first time, from Racovãþ, Bahna basin (Mehedinþi county). Also Scriban made the first comment on the morphology and distribution of the species Astacus astacus, A. leptodactylus and Austropotamobius torrentium, mentioning their distinctive features. Also, he published the first drawings of these species (cephalothorax). Entz (1912) dedicated a large study to the crayfish of Hungary, where data on the crayfish of Transylvania are included. Probably it is the amplest paper dedicated to the crayfish of the Romanian fauna from the beginning of the last century, with numerous data on the outer morphology, distinctive features between species, with more detailed figures and with the very first morphometric measures, and also with much detailed data on the distribution in Transylvania. -

(3) din Legea viei şi vinului în sistemul organizării comune a pieţei vitivinicole nr. 164/2015, cu modificările ulterioare; - art. 3 din Normele metodologice de aplicare a Legii viei şi vinului în sistemul organizării comune a pieţei vitivinicole nr. 164/2015, aprobate prin Hotărârea Guvernului nr. 512/2016; - art. 8 lit. q) din Hotărârea Guvernului nr. 1.408/2009 privind înfiinţarea, organizarea şi funcţionarea Oficiului Naţional al Viei şi Produselor Vitivinicole, republicată, În temeiul prevederilor art. 9 alin. (5) şi (6) din Hotărârea Guvernului nr. 30/2017 privind organizarea şi funcţionarea Ministerului Agriculturii şi Dezvoltării Rurale, precum şi pentru modificarea art. 6 alin. (6) din Hotărârea Guvernului nr. 1.186/2014 privind organizarea şi funcţionarea Autorităţii pentru Administrarea Sistemului Naţional Antigrindină şi de Creştere a Precipitaţiilor, cu modificările ulterioare, ministrul agriculturii şi dezvoltării rurale emite prezentul ordin. Art. 1 Se aprobă Nominalizarea arealelor viticole şi încadrarea localităţilor pe regiuni viticole, podgorii şi centre viticole, prevăzută în anexa care face parte integrantă din prezentul ordin. Art. 2 La data intrării în vigoare a prezentului ordin se abrogă Ordinul ministrului agriculturii, alimentaţiei şi pădurilor nr. 397/2003 pentru aprobarea Nominalizării arealelor viticole şi încadrării localităţilor pe regiuni viticole, podgorii şi centre viticole, publicat în Monitorul Oficial al României, Partea I, nr.
