DAY TO DAY PROGRAMME

DAY 1 AIRPORT COLOMBO AIRPORT – NEGOMBO (15 Km / 40 mns) Collect on arrival and transfer to hotel in Negombo. Night stay.

DAY 2 NEGOMBO – WILPATTU SAFARI – JAFFNA Breakfast at Hotel WLPATTUR SAFARI (130 Km / 3 Hrs) Wilpattu, land pursued by the big cats of the island's paradise. In it there is a large number of recordings of leopards from , apart from a large number of beautiful cats and floras, the park is well known for a healthy population of elephant, sloth bear, spotted deer, mongoose and water buffalo. Do not be surprised if the screech of a helpless wild boar reaches your ears, just observe more closely and you may witness a fantastic hunt, because it is an action that speaks of Wilpattu.

DAY 3 JAFFNA – NAGADEEPAYA – KANKASANTHUREI – JAFFNA CITY TOUR Breakfast at Hotel and sightseeing. JAFFNA: Northern Sri Lanka is a world apart from the rest of the country, being closer to southern India has retained a unique character and culture as mixtures of Indian Hinduism and Sri Lankan . It is the opportunity to explore a region that comes out of 20 years of isolation and although a little far from the center of the island it is worth the trip to visit the fascinating town of Jaffna, Tamil culture, Hindu temples such as Shree Nagapooshani Amman and Buddhists like the Kadurugoda, places where the tourist masses have not yet arrived. Also, the inheritances of the conquests are equally striking to visit as the of Jaffna built by the Dutch 1680 and the churches OLR and Santa Maria.

NAGADEEPA (40 Km / 2 Hrs): Nagadeepa (Nagadipa) or Nainativu is one of the islands belonging to the cluster of islands in the Palk Bay off the . Access to Nagadeepa is from the village of Kurikattuwan (Kurikadduwan) of the island of Punkudutivu which is a 20 minute boat ride over the Palk Bay. The sandy island of Nagadeepa, sheltered by Coconut palm groves as well as Palmyrah palm trees, features two main jetties set apart by no more than 300 meters. One of the jetties brings into the immediate vicinity, the Hindu Kovil at the beach while the other leads straight to the Nagadeepa Viharaya, which is also of proximity of the beach. The boats reaching the island opt for either of the two depending on the passengers brought in from Jaffna: should there be more Hindus, it will be moored to the jetty close to the Hindu Kovil; should there be more Buddhist passengers, the boat would be moored to the jetty closer to the Buddhist temple.

KANESANTHURAI (25 Km / 1 Hrs) Kankesanthurai colloquially known as KKS, is a port suburb, fishing division and resort hub of the , Northern Province, Sri Lanka. Located on the peninsula's northern coast, 18 KM from Jaffna city, A popular tourist destination for its Hindu temples, its sandy, palm tree filled coastal stretch of beach and the Pond, botoomless well. Kankesanthurai is on the north coast of the Jaffna Peninsula, near Point Pedro, the northernmost point in Sri Lanka. Its port is to the north, facing the Bay of Bengal in the Indian Ocean. Night in Jaffna.

Trincomalee, the city that has one of the best natural deep-water harbors in the world, housing some of the best- preserved coral reefs in the Pigeon Island marine sanctuary, colonized by rock pigeons, for an exciting diving experience, carelessness or fishing. In its crystalline sea there is also whale watching and its long golden beaches invite walks along the sea. In Trincomalee there is also a Dutch Fortress, the classic-medieval Hindu temple ‘Koneswaram’ and the Bhadrakali Amman temple dedicated to the goddess Kali.

The Kanniya Hot Springs is a site with hot wells located in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. There are seven wells in a square shape. Wells are only 3–4 feet deep and you can clearly see the bottom. The temperature is considerably high but vary slightly from one spring to another.

DAY 6 TRINCOMALEE – MIHINTALE – ANURADHAPURA CITY TOUR – ANURADHAPURA Breakfast at Hotel

MIHINTALE (95 Km / 2 Hrs)

Mihintale was the cradle of Buddhism on the island with the encounter between the monk Mahinda and King Devanampiyatissa. Today you can travel stone carvings and endless stairs as a legacy of the Buddhist sermon of “being awake” touring the Maha stupa, the hospital ruins, the Kantaka stupa, built in the 1st century BC, and Aradana Gala, the rock peak as an impressive viewpoint of this kingdom of lakes.

ANURADHAPURA (18 Km / 30 Mns)

Anuradhapura has a rich cultural heritage having been its first capital under the rule of 113 kings for 1,300 years since the 4th century B.C. In addition to the archaeological remains of the sacred city, among which the Ruwanwelisaya stupa and the Thuparamaya dagger stand out, the city also has one of the oldest and most complex irrigation systems in the ancient world. Anuradhapura was one of the first Buddhist pilgrimage sites on the island and is still revered today because of the Sri Maha Bodhi, the sacred Bo tree that was planted with a branch of the tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment 2,200 years ago..

DAY 7 ANUADHAPURA – AUKANA – YAPAHUWA – CHILAW Breakfast at Hotel and sightseeing+

AUKANA (50 Km / 1.3 Hrs) We will find a solid 40 feet tall statue, Aukana Buddha becomes one of the most important cultural and religious attractions in Sri Lanka leading a fantastic test of carvings dating from the 5th century under King Datusena: king still revered by the local population.

YAPAHUWA (58 Km / 1.5 Hrs) The ornamental endless staircase adorned with its well-preserved sculptures of lions and stone carvings are the first to unfold, as one gets into the ephemeral capital of the 13th century and the jewel in the crown of King Buwanekabahu, Yapahuwa. Resting between and Anuradhapura just 4 km from the Maho train station a hike to the summit will mean "perfection" in its true sense through sun-drenched rocks, exotic woods and breathtaking aerial views. The remains of the painted walls surrounding the bright kingdom of Yapahuwa are still visible, and as it rises along this like citadel, the power and prosperity of a civilization that once maintains diplomatic ties even with China , it becomes a brilliant test.
