Reports on ground activity: 1 (a) OP Ras: lL/ Between Ok3 2_/ and 0416 Israel forces personnel d reoccupied position at AMEX1907-2749 31 north of border pillar 19. !'! (b) Ol? Mar: Between 0455 and 1425 Israel forces personnel and :-, vehicle reoccupied position at AMR 2004-2901+ west of border pillar.33. ;: (c) OF' Hin: Between 0740 and 1400 Israel forces personnel reoccupied position at A!! 1799-2788 'near border pillar 11. Between 2226 and 2240 mortar fire by Israel forces. (d) 023 Khiam: Between 2132 and 2205 mortar fire by Israel forces. Between 2225 and 2235 artillery fire by Israel forces (confirmed by OP Mar)., 2. Re-ports on air activity: OP Kkim: Between 1019 and 1020 two Israel forces jet aircraft, flying south-east to north-west, turning west, then south-west, were first observed east-south-east and last observed west-south-west of OP (confirmed by OP Ras). 3. Complaints by the parties: Complaints have been recieved from Lebanon alleging that: (a) On 1 and 2 December one Israel forces patrol consisting of two armoured personnel carriers penetrated Lebanese territory in the region of Chebaa and occupied position AMR 1519-1555 throughout the day. 1---- &/ The locations of the observation posts are given in document S/11057. I_ 73-28741 / . l c S/llO57/Add.l07 English Page 2 (b) During the night of l/2 December several rounds of mortar and artillery fire coming from Israel territory fell in the Lebanese regions of Rachaiya El Foukhar (AMR 2127-3065); El Khraibe (AMR 2104-3047) and Ramiye (AMR 1795-2795). Material damage was reported. (c) On 2 December between 1025 and 1030 two Israel forces jet aircraft overflew the Lebanese regions of Marjayoun (AMR 2056-3074) 9 Nabatiye (Am 1958-3090) and Naqoura (AMR X629-28@). (d) On 2 December between 1600 and 1715 several rounds of mortar fire coming from Israel territory fell in the Lebanese regions of Chamaa (AMR 1700-2833), T air Barfa (AMR 1705-2811), El Khochm (A?JE?1681-2792), Btaichiye (AMR 1698-2792), Yarine (AMR 1723-2789), Aalma Ech Chaab (AMR IL675-2786), and Naqoura., Material damage .was reported, (e) On 3 December between 1030 and 1035 two Israel forces jet aircraft overflew the Lebanese regions of Marjayoun, Nabatiye and Yaroun (AMR 1897-2761). Complaint (a) was confirmedby United Nations observation (see S/l1057/Add.l04, para. 1 (c)). Complaint (e) was confirmed by United Nations observation for that portion within observation range of OPS Khiam 'and Ras, although there is a discrepancy in time (see paragraph 2). Complaints (a), (b) and (c) were not confirmed by United Nations observation, .

The Chief of Staff of UNTSO, Major-General E. A. Erskine, has submitted the following special report concerning certain developments in the Israel-Lebanon sector from 5 November to 9 November 1977: (a) Violations of the general cease-fire that went into effect on 26 September 1977 and. ended the fighting in the area of OP Khiam (AMR 2071-3025) l! (S/ll663/&Xl.45) have increased in intensity and number in southern Lebanon. This trend began on 5 IJovember 1977. (b) Naqoura Outstation (AWt 1629-2805) reported an exchange of automatic weapons fire on 5 November between 1800 and 181.0 GW between de facto forces in Naqoura and an Israel forces patrol boat which had.penetrated Lebanese territorial waters and was located 500 metres west of the Outstation. The'& facto forces initiated the exchange. (c) On 6 November, between 1935 and 2145 GMT, OP Lab (AMR 1643-2772) and the Naqoura Outstation observed Israel forces firing 30 artillery rounds aid 26 mortar rounds across the armistice demarcation line (ADL), which impacted in and around the Moslem village of Naqoura (AMR 1629-2805). A number of these rounds impacted close to the UNTSO Outstation and minor damage was caused to equipment and buildings. Israeli news agencies reported that this firing was in response to rocket attacks by de facto forces in southern Lebanon directed at the city of Nahariya in Israel (~~~‘1585-2673) on 6 November in which two people were reported killed.
