Spark of faith. There is a great image of hope in today’s Gospel. The mustard seed brings to mind something that is tiny, weak and insignificant. But Jesus says that if our faith is even the size of a mustard seed, we are A capable of great things! God grows strength out of weakness. Once we have a small spark of faith in our hearts, it can grow into something strong. If we nourish it, turn to God more often, make more space for him in our daily routine, wonderful things will follow. Find that spark and let it shine! Baptisms: We welcome into the Christian community Ceoladh Mae McCabe, who was baptised in September

BAPTISMS IN GALLOON PARISH: DONAGH: Saturday 12th October; Saturday 9th November; Saturday 14th December at 3.00pm. NEWTOWNBUTLER: Sunday 20th October; Sunday 17th November; Sunday 15th December after 11.30am Mass. All Baptisms must be booked with Stella in the Parish Office. Baptism is called the ‘Sacrament of Initiation’ – the new child is welcomed into the worshipping local Parish Community and becomes a member of Christ’s Church, the worldwide community of believers. Because of this, there is no such thing as an ‘individual’ Baptism or a ‘private’ Baptism. By its very nature, Baptism is public and community- orientated, even if only one child is baptised at the ceremony. Baptism is a powerful statement of the unity of our Church and the community where our faith is lived out on a day to day basis. Unity and Community are the hallmarks of a healthy, living and vibrant Church. Every baptismal ceremony strengthens these core Christian values in our local parish community of Galloon and builds the spiritual web that binds us together with each other and with Jesus Christ as His living Body in the world. Fr. Kevin.
