ADMTEC1AS 1. » Sc cucarga encarecidamente al lector, que no se deje llevar de la curiosidad (á que el método se presta) de pa• sar de una lección á otra, sin enterarse bien de cada una. De nada le servirá, v. g. pasar á la 2.a lección, sino está bien enterado de la 1 .a; pues en aquella encontrará usadas las reglas y términos de esta; por lo que si los ignora, le será forzoso retroceder á la t a lección para comprender la 2.a; lo cual entorpece mucho el estudio y hasta le hace odioso. Enterarse bien de cada lección; y si para ello no basta un día, se emplean dos ó más. 2. a Para penetrarse bien de las reglas, signiíicación de los lénninos y sus acentos, después de estudiada bien una lección, se debe traducir ai iloco el tema castellano, escri• biéndolo, sin mirar el tema ilocano respectivo, y luego cote• jarle con este para ver y corregir los defectos. 3. a Para irse ejercitando en la pronunciación y acostum• brar el oido á estos sonidos extraños, deben leerse varias veces en voz alta los temas ilocanos, y luego mandar leer• los á un natural que tenga buena pronunciación, la que se procurará imitar. 4. a La pronunciación de las letras de este dialecto es la misma que de las del castellano, cuyo alfabeto há apro• piado, á excepción delas consonantes siguientes: c/¿, /, h, j, k, U, c, ¿t?, s, y estas dos sílavas, ce, ci que no las tiene el iloco. Mas es de advertir, que las vocales o, u, y e, i, no tienen sonido lijo, sino recíproco, es decir; que la o ya suena o, ya suena, u; y esta ya suena u, ya o; y la e, suena i y viceversa, al arbitrio del que habla. Hay Además en el alfabeto ilocano una consonante cuya forma es esta, nga; y cuya pronunciación gangosa es un poco difícil, por lo que es preciso aprenderla de viva voz. Muchas veces ocurre tener que intercalar la partícula in ó im en alguna de las sílavas ca, co, cu; más como no hay en iloco la sílava ci, no se pronunciará ni se escribirá ciña, ciño ni cimu, sino quina, quino, quimu, v. g.; cal/aja, defensa, qtiinahuja, de• fendido; canana, dice él, quinonana, dijo él; cuscus, ras• padura, quinuscus, raspado (1); cumurang, falta, qturnmu rang, falló etc. es decir; que la c se convierte en q. 5.a Por lo que hace al acento de lo.s términos, aunque hasta ahora no se há fijado regla alguna, no hay dificul• tad, pues se hallan todos acentuados en el Diccionario. Sólo se advierte, que cuando al término se le pospone la partícula en ó an, se adelanta el acento una sílava v. g.; ála, alácn; gafó, gapodn. Las excepciones son poquísimas, y se verán en la obra. Conviene lijarse mucho en el acento, pues sobre ser uno de los adornos del lenguaje, determina muchas veces la significación de las voces, que sólo discrepan en la acentuación, v. g. sdrui, tisis; sarút, ingenio; drac, vino, arde, reunión; bása, lectura, basd, mojadura; saldpi, ma• zorca, salapi, medio peso etc. LECCION PRIMERA. t > \ 1 .a ÍÍOS artículos, nombres, pronombres y adje• tivos «on invariables en sus terminaciones, por cuan lo este idioma no tiene más que un sólo género. The principal error Language stems from the fact that few present-day martial systems teach the blade. The premise of this article is that to effectively defend against a knife, you need to know how to use one. The purpose of this article is to motivate martial arts instructors to analyze more critically their unarmed knife defense techniques based on a clear understanding of the use of the knife, and to reawaken interest English in the blade arts in the martial arts community.
