“We have a very systematic way of managing and monitoring our legislative programme,” explains Mrs Lam. “I have chaired a meeting to decide the 2012-13 legislative programme. The common complaint from LegCo is that the Administration tends to put more legislative proposals towards the end of the four-year term of LegCo, which means that LegCo is coping with a very heavy workload towards the end of the LegCo term.”

Saturday specialist out-patient services at Queen Mary Hospital Civil Service Bureau

In addition to the 9H Specialist Clinic (9HSC) for civil service eligible persons (CSEPs) at Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH), which commenced operation in March 2012, extra specialist out-patient (SOP) services sessions for CSEPs are now available on Saturday mornings at Queen Mary Hospital (QMH).

With effect from September 1, 2012, QMH will provide general SOP services in four specialties to CSEPs, including gynaecology, medicine, orthopaedics & traumatology, and surgery. CSEPs who have made an appointment for the first consultation for general SOP services at a Hospital Authority SOP clinic (other than 9HSC at PWH) may opt to utilise the Saturday SOP services at QMH. THE Government has established in Hospital Authority (HA) two Occupational Health Centres (OHCs) to provide dedicated medical services for Government employees suffering from injury on duty (IOD) or occupational diseases (OD). The two OHCs – one in Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) and one in Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) – provide services ranging from immediate to follow-up medical treatment, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and simple wound management, exclusively for Government employees suffering from IOD or OD.
