MARKETING EFFORTS

The travel intentions survey shows there’s an important pent-up demand for holidays and people are wanting to travel by plane in 2021. Therefore Brussels Airport has once again decided to heavily invest in marketing efforts to aspire consumers to book their travel.

We decided to seize this opportunity and put in effort to assure traffic Dare to dream at our premises, but also in an effort to support our airlines, we made a strategic decision to invest in a 360° marketing strategy to assure that Belgians are inspired to travel this summer season, and do so from Brussels Airport. Dare to book

The focus lies on three pillars: “Dare to Dream”, “Dare to Book” and “Dare to Fly”. Depending on decisions made by governments and the Dare to fly ease of travel, they can easily navigate between these three themes.

Furthermore, based on the usual traffic of the season, the airport has focused on four specific target groups. The Sun Seekers, The City Trippers, The +65 as well as specific VFR segments.

5 Traffic growth initiatives

The next few months our aviation development team will be very busy assuring a maximum of exposure and appropriate content towards these target groups. Not only will we focus on direct B2C communication, we will also implement a series of B2B efforts.

Last month we developed an online activation with TUI fly, right now we have an activation with Vueling. The next months other collaborations will follow.

Travel guides

Influencer campaigns

Partnerships with selected tour operators

Webinars for trade and corporates Last month we collaborated with VVR and UPAV (Belgian travel organisations) to organise our first webinars for trade. Given the great interest, more webinars will follow.
