While it is hard to keep track of all the erotic magazines catering to a male audience, there aren't all that many publications that tickle the female imagination. One year ago, two women from Berlin set out to do something about that, starting their own magazine for the German market, Séparée. Following a quarterly publication pattern, the third issue has been printed at the end of the year, and as always, it is about eroticism for women, marking a departure from trodden paths and stereotyped role models. Janina Gatzky, one of the two founders of Séparée, took the time for an interview with EAN, sharing her definition of feminine eroticism, explaining how the magazine also represents a platform for erotic products, and telling us why the time is right for a magazine such as Séparée.

How did you get into the love toy industry? Robert Karlsson: H2O Vibe was a pure coincidence. I saw my girlfriend playing with the water jet from the shower, and I thought: Why not combine this with a nor- mal vibe? I have always wanted to invent something, and now I have!

If you weren’t in this industry, what would you be doing now?
