The Statute of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees was adopted by the General Assembly on 14 December 1950 as Annex to Resolution 428 (V).n I this Resolution, reproduced on page 4, the Assembly also called upon the Governments to cooperate with the High Com- missioner in the performance of his or her functions concerning refugees fall- ing under the competence of the Office. In accordance with the Statute, the work of the High Commissioner is humanitarian and social and of an entirely non-political character. The functions of the High Commissioner are defined in the Statute and in various Resolutions subsequently adopted by the General Assembly. -

She is currently studying for her A levels in Welsh, Drama and Religious Education as Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Plasmawr in Fairwater. She enjoys going out with her friends, watching films, listening to and playing music as do all teenage girls her age. She has a particular love of drama and acting and is starring in a forthcoming feature film called ‘Hunky Dory’ and had several parts in Welsh language programmes such as Pobol y Cwm and Gwaith Catref. -

Surprise Billing National Poll Report FINAL
Surprise Medical Bills Results from a National Survey November 2019 National 12-minute survey of 1,000 registered voters using YouGov’s national online panel fielded October 16 - 22, 2019. Margin of sampling error on the total results: +/-3.3 percentage points. Methods. The study was sponsored by Families USA, a leading national, non-partisan voice for health care consumers. PerryUndem, a non-partisan research firm, conducted the survey. The survey explored voters’ experiences with surprise medical bills and their feelings about legislation to protect consumers from these bills. 2 5 Key Findings. 1. McFarland: International Differences in Support for Human Rights International Differences in Support for Human Rights Sam McFarland Western Kentucky University ABSTRACT International differences in support for human rights are reviewed. The first of two sections reviews variations in the strength of ratification of UN human rights treaties, followed by an examination of the commonalities and relative strengths among the five regional human rights systems. This review indicates that internationally the strongest human rights support is found in Europe and the Americas, with weaker support in Africa, followed by still weaker support in the Arab Union and Southeast Asia. The second section reviews variations in responses to public opinion polls on a number of civil and economic rights. A strong coherence in support for different kinds of rights was found, and between a nation’s public support for human rights and the number of UN human rights conventions a nation has ratified. -
