On this site, one of America’s most eccentric and influential personalities turned a playboy’s interest in flight into a company that helped define twentieth-century aviation. The site in what is now Playa Vista was one of the epicenters of Los Angeles’ aviation history, and it’s now on the cusp of a new life as an entertainment production campus.
