Summer program participants travel to Mars and beyond Personal care and baby items collected for Open Pantry teen parents WESTFIELD — The UCC Second Congregational Church on Western Avenue hosted a summer program July 8-12 serving children pre-school through grade five with many more student- assistants helping younger kids. Throughout a week-long journey, the travelers explored where God’s power could take them. They travelled with program mascot Ep3-20 “to Mars and Beyond,” learning the lessons of Ephesians 3:20 … “Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us.” Over 70 students from the Greater Westfield area attended the program, with more than 30 volunteers assisting, many being students of the Westfield intermediate, middle, and high schools. Through daily Bible stories, science experiments, crafts, games, and songs, children learned how to “go beyond” with faith, boldness, kindness, thankful- ness, and hope.
