Ministra E Ex-Atleta Assume a Chefia Do Comitê De Tóquio-2020 Notícias Postado Em: 18/02/2021 11:00 Secretaria de Políticas para as Mulheres - Estado da Bahia - Ministra e ex-atleta assume a chefia do Comitê de Tóquio-2020 Notícias Postado em: 18/02/2021 11:00 A ministra dos Jogos Olímpicos, Seiko Hashimoto, foi nomeada nesta quinta-feira a presidente do Comitê Organizador de Tóquio-2020, substituindo no cargo Yoshiro Mori, que se demitiu na última sexta após a polêmica criada por suas declarações machistas. "Não vou poupar esforços para o sucesso dos Jogos de Tóquio", garantiu a ex-atleta, de 56 anos, que já apresentou a demissão do cargo no governo japonês ao primeiro-ministro Yoshihide Suga. A nomeação de Hashimoto, que competiu três vezes nos Jogos Olímpicos e quatro nos Jogos de Inverno, é considerada um sinal importante em um país em que as mulheres continuam a ser raras em cargos de poder. Ela era também a responsável no governo pela igualdade de gênero desde setembro de 2019. A história pessoal de Hashimoto tem além disso muitas ligações com os Jogos Olímpicos. Nasceu em Hokkaido, no norte do Japão, cinco dias depois da cerimônia de abertura da Olimpíada de Tóquio em 1964. O seu nome Seiko vem de "seika", que quer dizer "chama olímpica" em japonês. O ex-dirigente disse ainda que "as mulheres têm espírito competitivo" e "se uma levanta a mão (para poder intervir), as outras sentem-se na obrigação de também falarem", fazendo com que as reuniões demorem muito tempo a serem concluídas. A polêmica gerada pelas declarações de Mori, que o próprio reconheceu "contrárias ao espírito olímpico" em um pedido de desculpas, levou à demissão de centenas de voluntários para os Jogos e causou profundo mal-estar entre os patrocinadores do evento.     GR JAPAN Update on the appointment of Prime Minister Suga and the Suga Cabinet 17 September 2020 Executive Summary • As expected, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga easily won the election for leadership of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) on 14 September, taking over 70% of the vote.     2014 Winter Olympic Competing Nations We list below detailed historial Olympic information for every IOC Member Nation that has previously competed at the Olympic Winter Games and that will compete in Sochi, as of 27 January 2014. There appear to be 88 qualified NOCs that have met IF quota requirements as of 24 January, and have accepted them (the previous record for a Winter Olympics is 82 in 2010 at Vancouver). Unfortunately, after reallocation of some quotas, only the skiing federation (FIS) has published the final quotas as of 26 January. We have tried to list below the sports for which each NOC has qualified but there is a small chance, with reallocations, that there may be minor differences in the final allocation by sport. There are seven nations that will compete in Sochi that have never before competed at the Olympic Winter Games – Dominica, Malta, Paraguay, Timor-Leste (East Timor), Togo, Tonga, and Zimbabwe. Their factsheets have been published previously on olympstats.com – see http://olympstats.com/2014/01/23/new-winter-olympic-nations-for-sochi/, which came out on 23 January. One problem nation is listed below and that is DPR Korea (North). They have not qualified any athletes for Sochi. They had the 1st and 2nd reserves for pairs figure skating but those do not appear to have been chosen by final reallocation of quota sports by the International Skating Union (ISU). However, yesterday (26 January), DPR Korea has petitioned the IOC for redress to allow them to have Olympic athletes compete in Sochi. So they are included below but it is unknown if they will compete.
