WHERE TO HIKE Unless otherwise noted, dogs are allowed on the Ice Age Trail and should be under control and leashed at all times. Dogs are NOT permitted in Janesville Paks or trails (include Ice Age) May 15 – September 15; must be leashed at all other times.
ARBOR RIDGE SEGMENT DEVIL’S STAIRCASE SEGMENT (2.1 miles) (1.8 miles) This scenic segment through the Robert O. Cook Memorial One of the most popular hiking trails in Janesville, the Arboretum is close to Janesville but feels miles away. It traverses remarkable, remote-feeling route will make hikers forget an area of bedrock hills covered with till from glacial advances they are in a city. Located in Riverside Park, this segment much older than those explored by most of the Ice Age Trail. traces the limestone escarpment on an elevated ledge above the Rock River – a stepped geological feature warranting the nickname Devil’s Staircase.
JANESVILLE SEGMENT (up to 10-miles) This segment follows the City’s extensive paved trail system that links parks to create an urban greenbelt and it is an excellent way to tally some miles and explore downtown Janesville!
