Girls’ Intermediate Basketball

Girls' goal of obtaining 6 straight divisional titles was snapped by the narrowest of margins - All good things must come to an end, it's just that the All Saints girls' team were not ready to merely roll over and let it happen. The ladies fought till the bitter end during their divisional round here at All Saints, however Fr. Serra was able to just barely best them when the final buzzer sounded. The 18 - 17 loss was almost a 19 - 18 win for the Titans as the girls were able to create three solid chances to take back the lead in the last 30 seconds of the game. The luck around the rim just wasn't there when the ladies needed it. Can the girls dust off the sting of defeat (overall record of 6 - 8) and make their triumphant return next season? Both coach Takacs and Goles think so, it all depends on the Jr. girls' basketball program development. Thanks for a great run ladies, especially all of the senior players who are graduating, most of you were a part of a magical run that will be most difficult to replicate. Thanks for the awesome memories!

Girls' 2017 - 2018 Team Roster: Nadia Guido (Captain), Jermonic Benjamin, Ella Gottardo, Stephanie Charles, Vanessa Arase, Janet Oduro-Kwarteng, Sarah Zewdu, Sarah Carvalho Silva, Dalia Oliveria, Sophia Kim, Madeline Pelosi, Kirsten Galon, Kelly Cabrera, Alexa Armour, Victoria Inadagbo, Naiyah Elder

Jr. Basketball is starting very soon, so please keep an eye out and an ear open for announcements and try out schedules!

All Saints coaches garner coaching award nominations - Mr. Takacs was suprised to find out upon his return from March break that he was one of five coaches up for the yearly West Region Coach of the Year award. This is the first time in his years of coaching that he was nominated individually and is immensely grateful for the honour.

"It's always nice to be recognized," Takacs commented, "I can't take all of the credit though. I've been blessed to have an amazing group of student athletes over the years, and this year is no exception to that trend. Without these awesome kids, there wouldn't be a nomination, so thank you boys and girls."

Not to be outdone, by Mr. Takacs, Mr. Tonon also received recognition on a grand scale by being one of five TCDSB coaches nominated for the board-wide Victor Angelosante Award. This award is given to coaches who, through significant involvement with athletics and the TCSAA, have made an outstanding contribution toward the overall development and education of young people over a period of 15 or more years. Mr. Tonon is most definitely deserving of such accolades.

Kudos to all of the coaching staff here at All Saints!

Not only did students get a deeper understanding of the story but they got to dance, act and sing with a professional live band. “My goal was to create a show that could reach everybody…where the lyrics of the music and the interpretation of the dancers would give students the ability to grow in their faith and catholic education.” Mr. Roloson Mr. Roloson and Ms. Suppa are very proud of the hard work of the actors/singers/dancers/media and technical roles that students took part in.
