We’re now deep into fall: The pumpkin spice is in the air, the leaves are changing, and Michelin has released its annual starred guide to New York’s restaurants. (Last week, the tire company let loose its 2020 Bib Gourmand list.) There are, as always, some new additions, with Blue Hill at Stone Barns (which was eligible for the first time) joining the two-star club and Estela, Crown Shy, and Odo among the new spots awarded a single star.

As is customary, New York’s food geeks will gather, on the internet and at bars around town, to complain about what was snubbed and what didn’t deserve a star. Of course, you’re likely asking yourself, Did my favorite new spot make the list? It’s possible! No doubt your high-rolling friend will fume, “Blue Hill should’ve gotten five stars!” (There are only three.) Check out the full list:
