De m o u g e o t The Engineers (4-3-1, 1-1 Liberty), coached by Cord Farmer (3rd Season), split games in their Liberty League opening weekend, defeating Clarkson 1-0 and falling 2-1 in OT to St. Lawrence. Against Clarkson, the Engineers profited from a Clarkson own goal. Against St. Lawrence, sophomore forward Shannon Maguire scored the game’s first goal at the 17:37 mark. Maguire and freshman forward Sara Rothschild lead the Engineers with 10 points each on four goals and two assists. Sophomore defender Kristen Bombardier was selected to the Liberty League Second Team last year.

Last Meeting (October 3, 2009): RPI defeated Vassar 3-1 in their previous meeting, but Vassar won the four games prior. Last year, the Engineers took a two goal lead in the first 11 minutes with a header goal by Danielle Redmond in the first minute and a header by Maguire in the 11th minute. Maguire scored on a penalty kick in the first minute of the second half to extend the lead to 3-0. The Brewers responded with a goal from McManis on an indirect kick by then sophomore Alix Zongrone in the 46th minute. Vassar and RPI were even with 14 shots and three corner kicks.
