3(a) Four hostels namely Kwa Mashu, Umlazi "T"/17, Kwamakhutha and Kwadabeka hostels changed ownership after the 1994 elections.

(b) All four hostels were transferred on 12 December 2007 and the hostels were transferred from KZN Provincial Human Settlements Department to Ethekwini Metropolitan Municipality.

(c) Provincial Business Plans have been approved for demolishing and conversion of hostels to Community Residential Units (CRU). In certain instances portions of the hostels have been demolished and converted to CRU units.
