Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed the Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler through mankading. The name Mankading is derived due to the fact that for the first time Indian bowler Vinoo Mankad had dismissed Bill Brown of Australia, by removing the bails when the latter was away from the crease during India’s tour of Australia in 1947. Hence the dismissal is named after the Indian Cricketer Vinoo Mankad. Mankading is a kind of dismissal witnessed in the game of cricket. Mankading is the situation where a bowler run out a non-striker by hitting the bails before bowling when the non-striker is outside the crease, with no warning. Even though it is a legal way of dismissing the batsmen, it is considered as unethical and against the spirit of the game. Sharda Peeth is an abandoned Hindu temple and ancient centre of learning in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). The temple is dedicated to goddess Sharada, the Hindu goddess of learning. Sharada Temple is located at Sharada village and it is here river Kishanganga and two streams Madhmati and Sargun meets. Goddess Sharada is the Kuldevi of Kashmiri pandits. It is also one of the three famous tirthas, or holy sites, for Kashmiri Pandits, the other two being the Martand Sun Temple and the Amarnath Temple. Sharada Peeth is also revered as one of 18 Maha Shakti Peethas, or “Grand Shakti Peethas” which commemorates the location of fallen body parts of the Hindu deity Sati. Sharada Peeth is believed to be a foremost centre of learning Between the 6th and 12th centuries CE hosting scholars such as Kalhana, Adi Shankara, Vairostana, Kumarajiva, and Thonmi Sambhota. The temple is about 150 km from Muzaffarabad capital of PoK and 130 Km from Srinagar currently under the control of Pakistan. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch 29 satellites including the primary payload EMISAT on April 1, 2019. CBSE would be introducing artificial intelligence as an optional sixth subject in Class IX from the 2019-2020 session onwards. The central board has decided that schools may start AI ‘inspire module’ of 12 hours in Class VIII itself, in order to enhance the multidisciplinary approach in teaching learning and also to sensitise the new generation. ♦ Anti-submarine warfare (ASW) corvette, INS Kadmatt will participate in the 15th edition of Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA-19) Anti-submarine warfare (ASW) corvette, INS Kadmatt will participate in the 15th edition of Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA-19). The corvette arrived at Langkawi, Malaysia on March 25, 2019 for seven days official visit. The RBI has requested the committee to give recommendations in 3 months in this regard. It was announced by the Governor of RBI, Mr Shaktikanta Das at the inaugural event of Financial Technology (Fintech) Conclave being organized by NITI Aayog in New Delhi. Financial technology, often shortened to Fintech, is computer programs and a new technology innovation that aims to compete with traditional financial methods in the delivery of financial services. Other Members of the committee: Other members are former Deputy Governor of RBI - H.R. Khan, former Secretary, Ministry of Information Technology and Steel - Aruna Sharma, former MD&CEO of Vijaya Bank - Kishore Sansi, Chief Innovation Officer, Center for Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship (CIIE), IIM Ahmedabad - Sanjay Jain. Terms of Reference of Committee: It will review existing status of digitization of payments in the country and identify current gaps in digital payment ecosystem and suggest ways to bridge them. It will suggest a medium-term strategy for deepening of digital payments. ♦ The Global Energy Transition index 2019 report has been released by the World Economic Forum (WEF) Sweden has topped the index and is followed by Switzerland and Norway in the top three. China is ranked even lower than India in the 82nd position. The United Kingdom (UK) is ranked seventh and the UK is the only G7 economy in the top 10. Singapore has been ranked thirteenth, while Germany, Japan and the US have bagged the seventeenth, eighteenth and the twenty-seventh place respectively. Among the Asian Countries, Malaysia is ranked highest at 31st, Sri Lanka is 60th, Bangladesh 90th and Nepal 93rd. The report states that the world’s transition to secure, affordable and sustainable energy has stagnated, with little or no progress achieved in the past five years. The index notes that continued use of coal for power generation in Asia, increasing commodity prices and slower-than-needed improvements in energy intensity have contributed to this year’s stagnation in performance. Even though more people across the globe have access to energy, this has been offset by reduced affordability and almost no progress in making energy systems environmentally sustainable. India has moved up two places to rank 76th and the report states that India is amongst the countries with high pollution levels and has a relatively high CO2 intensity in its energy system. AUSINDEX 2019 will be held off the coast of Vishakhapatnam from April 2 to 16. From the Australian side, HMAS Canberra (landing helicopter dock), Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment vessel, two frigates — HMAS Newcastle and HMAS Parramatta and P8I and P8 maritime patrol aircraft will be involved in the exercise. A Kilo-class submarine, land-based Hawk aircraft that will provide the air attack element for the exercise, a Kamorta class anti-submarine vessel, besides a stealth destroyer will lead the Indian deployment for the exercise. Playing with a near full-strength lineup and with a pink ball in the day-night match in preparation for the first test on Dec. 15 in Brisbane - also a day-night encounter - Pakistan lost six wickets in the final session under lights. Cricket Australia XI bowler Cameron Valente claimed four wickets, including three of Pakistan’s top six. After winning the toss and electing to bat, the visitors fell to 50-3 midway through the opening session, and wickets went down steadily from there. Only veteran Younis Khan offered sustained resistance, facing 138 balls before he inside-edged a ball from Ryan Lees that swung back slightly under lights to be caught behind for 54. He was the only Pakistan batsman to reach 50. Earlier yesterday, Pakistan officials said uncapped 17-year-old left-arm spinner Mohammad Asghar would join the team as a backup for injured legspinner Yasir Shah. Shah is doubtful for the first test following a back injury which also ruled him out of the Cairns match. Asghar has taken 68 wickets in 17 first-class matches since making his debut in 2014. Shah had been pivotal to Pakistan’s suc- cess in test matches for the last two years, taking 116 wickets in only 20 tests.

In Hindu religion, the temples have supreme importance and different god and goddesses like Vishnu, Mahadeva, et. Are being worshiped. among them we are focusing on sun temples because they are believed to be built either because of some vow or to celebrate victory. Concept behind building sun temple is sun as a celestial body in universe, earth’s rotation around sun, period of completion of one rotation. elements of ornamentation are focused on the above-mentioned factors. In India the origin of the worship of the Sun is several centuries old. Sun temples are constructed in different time period by various dynasties. The study of sun temples in India is based on their location, spatial arrangement, historical background, construction material, time line, evolution and ornamentation. By comparing above mentioned parameters, we can find out over the period of time changes occurred in the construction of the sun temple in India.     Ancient Universities in India Ancient alanda University Nalanda is an ancient center of higher learning in Bihar, India from 427 to 1197. Nalanda was established in the 5th century AD in Bihar, India. Founded in 427 in northeastern India, not far from what is today the southern border of Nepal, it survived until 1197. It was devoted to Buddhist studies, but it also trained students in fine arts, medicine, mathematics, astronomy, politics and the art of war. The center had eight separate compounds, 10 temples, meditation halls, classrooms, lakes and parks. It had a nine-story library where monks meticulously copied books and documents so that individual scholars could have their own collections. It had dormitories for students, perhaps a first for an educational institution, housing 10,000 students in the university’s heyday and providing accommodations for 2,000 professors. Nalanda University attracted pupils and scholars from Korea, Japan, China, Tibet, Indonesia, Persia and Turkey. A half hour bus ride from Rajgir is Nalanda, the site of the world's first University. Although the site was a pilgrimage destination from the 1st Century A.D., it has a link with the Buddha as he often came here and two of his chief disciples, Sariputra and Moggallana, came from this area. The large stupa is known as Sariputra's Stupa, marking the spot not only where his relics are entombed, but where he was supposedly born. The site has a number of small monasteries where the monks lived and studied and many of them were rebuilt over the centuries. We were told that one of the cells belonged to Naropa, who was instrumental in bringing Buddism to Tibet, along with such Nalanda luminaries as Shantirakshita and Padmasambhava.

This will allow the girls to showcase their development and enthusiasm. At 12.00 noon there’ll be a 40 overs-a-side match between an Isle of Wight XI and the MCC, for the Keith Newbery Memorial Trophy. The IW Cricket Board Coach, Andy Woodward, has been able to arrange the fixture which follows a MCC match against Ryde School on Saturday 12th September (which starts at 1.00pm). THE PAVILION WILL BE OPEN FOR MEMBERS AND THEIR GUESTS FROM 9.00AM SERVING EGGS AND BACON (OF COURSE!) - AND THROUGHOUT THE DAY OFFERING LIGHT REFRESHMENTS, LUNCHES AND DRINKS. Two weeks later, on Sunday 27th September (not Sunday 20th September as previously advised), we close the season with the NEWCLOSE CRICKET CLUB PRESIDENT’S DAY of cricket and social events - culminating in the Newclose End of Season party at close of play.

Pilgrimage is an old practice of travelling to the sacred places such as temples, mosques, churches and shrines etc. Religious tourism mixes pilgrimage and features of tourism and is considered a tool for sustainability, change and peace building among communities. It is particularly important for India being the fastest growing segment of tourism and given the fact that the whole country is dotted with important religious sites and is known for largest congregation in the world as in the case of Mahakumbh. While each state of country has a unique mix of religious tourism but the state of Jammu and Kashmir have a wonderful mix of Hindu, Muslim and Sikh religions sites though it is known more for Vaishno Devi shrine and Amarnath yatra. Kashmir Valley in this state is popularly known for its natural beauty and leisure tourism than religious tourism despite the high resources for religious tourism. This study is an attempt to identify and map the religious tourist resources in Kashmir valley. The nature of the study is exploratory and to find answers to queries raised through objectives both primary and secondary data has been used. The mapping of the sites highlighted that Kashmir has a mixture of different religious attractions and some of these attractions are located in close vicinity to one another.
