Hailed as China’s top a cappella group, Metro is taking the musical world by storm. Their electrifying Chinese and English rep covers every genre from Funk to Rock, Jazz to Pop. At every concert they hit audiences with, what critics have described as, a “wall of sound.” This four-man vocal group is quickly becoming the leader of contemporary a cappella in Asia. With a career spanning 17 years and over 20 million views on Youku and YouTube worldwide, Metro is reigning in a new era of sound. Metro started their career in 1998 singing aboard several ships with Celebrity Cruises. After four years with the fleet, they moved to Tokyo, Japan and performed for Tokyo Disney Sea in the American Waterfront. Their reputation for being exceptional entertainers caught the attention of the directors of Hong Kong Disneyland and in 2005, they were asked to open the park. After two years with the company, Metro made the decision to enter the mainstream music industry and they have never looked back. Since that time, Metro has discovered an entirely different variety of Cantonese and Mandarin music from the last 50 years and now performs some of China’s most beloved songs as well as their own compositions. After recording two trendsetting albums, in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, Metro has established themselves as powerful artists in the Asian music market. They recorded their first Cantonese music video, My Pride, in 2009 and the response was overwhelming. Shortly after, in 2010, Metro recorded Beyond’s famous rock ballad, Under A Vast Sky, making them a household name in Asian communities around the world. Metro currently makes their home in Hong Kong, China. Metro Vocal Group 男高音 / 主唱 尚恩 男高音 / 人聲打擊 凱文 男中音 / 艾立克 男低音 / 人聲打擊 邁可 Tenor / Leader Sean Tenor / Vocal Percussion Kevin Baritone / Eric Bass / Vocal Percussion Michael NO BORDERS 人聲無國界 3 Metro Vocal Group 美國無伴奏人聲樂團 尚恩˙奧利佛 Sean Oliver Profle Hometown/ Cincinnati, Ohio Favorite Movies/ T he Shawshank Redemption, Amadeus, American Projects/ Oil Painting, Mandarin Beauty, The Godfather Musical Inspirations/ Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Elton John, The Beatles Favorite Quotes/ “Get busy living or get busy dying.” -Morgan Freeman, The Shawshank Redemption Favorite Books/ Game of Thrones, Angels and Demons, Memoirs of a Geisha 4 Sean Oliver comes from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. • Tags for Women's Voices
ClassicClassic TagsTags for women’s voices Compiled by David Wright Assisted by Jim Bagby, Kevin Keller, and David Krause PREFACE Barbershop tag singing is surely one of the finest traditions arising from vocal harmony. A tag is a short passage consisting of an arrangement’s ending, or coda, which is taught and sung in sessions of informal chord- ringing. The tag allows four singers to quickly blend their voices in a few seconds of blissful harmony without the burden of learning an entire song. This manual is an anthology dedicated to the perpetuation of this practice. We have endeavored to chronicle the tag-singing of today and yesterday by collecting the “classic” tags—those which have become lore by virtue of having been repeated and passed along from harmonizer to harmonizer. Most of these tags originated within the barbershop community, but a few from neighboring vocal styles have been embraced by barbershoppers and are therefore included as well. It should be noted that some of the tags contain chords which are not accepted in a barbershop contest. We have simply recorded the tags the way they are usually sung, with no editorial “corrections”. An effort was made to determine the origin of each tag, but this proved to be an impossible task. The source of many of these little gems seems lost in the murky past, perhaps never to be ascertained. When possible we have identified the tag’s arranger and an approximate date of origin; if the tag was popularized by a particular performer, we have so indicated. The tags appear in no particular order, and no consistent method was applied in labeling them.

We sing for the whole ship! Don’t miss out! Reserve your spot now: CruisenSing.com • 855-627-8473 WELCOME TO I’m thrilled that you can join us for what I believe will be remembered as one of several milestone conventions in our history! Our inauspicious start began 80 years ago as an inward-facing group of men who gathered to sing for their own personal enjoyment. We grew over the next two decades but only began outreach efforts to impact lives other than our own in 1959, when we established Harmony Foundation. We continued to focus our charitable efforts externally by supporting therapy for autistic youth until the late 1990s, and only began our “modern” journey circa 2003 with Harmony Foundation supporting Society singing programs such as the program that has grown into the wildly successful Youth Chorus Festival, noted for facilitating truly intergenerational singing. Fast forward to 2017, when more than two years of member feedback and strategic planning efforts culminated in the announcement of our new vision, “Everyone in Harmony.” Since adopting the Everyone in Harmony vision, the Society Board and Harmony Hall staff have been working diligently to design and begin implementation of programs aligned to the vision.
