Zuglio, a small village of Carnia located a few kilometres from , lies in correspondence of Iulium Carnicum, Italy’s most northern Roman town, situated along an important road between Aquileia and Noricum. The Municipal Archaeological Museum provides a survey of the current state of archaeological research in Carnia and an up-to-date picture of the results obtained during the investigations carried out in Zuglio. Besides the Museum, one can visit the Forum, built in the Augustan Age, consisting of a large rectangular square, closed on the southern side by the building of the civilian basilica and dominated on the northern side by a sacred building.
