Thank you so much for your recent contribution and your support these past six months. It has meant a great deal to me. On Tuesday night, please join me to celebrate our victory!! Great Dane Brew Pub 123 E. Doty Madison 8:Q FRED A. RISSER STATE SENATOR P.O. BOX 61 • MADISON, WI 53701 January 29, 1997 Dear Friend. There's someone I'd like you to meet. She's bright, conscientious and tenaciously persistent when taking on problems of the day But even more important, in my opinion, she has vision. "2020 vision" to be exact. As we teeter on the edge of a new millennium, this type of forward thinking is critically important. With 40,000 more people expected to call Dane County home during the next decade alone, our leaders can't get bogged down with red tape and paper pushing. They need to think ahead We need leaders with moxie, not just mechanics. You are one of the few people who truly understands what's at stake here - for our families, our natural resources and our communities. I know we would all like to see #1 rankings posted well into the next century That's why I'm supporting Kathleen Falk for County Executive. She has the energy and the drive and the eye to the future that is so critical for our continued prosperity and even better times ahead Kathleen will do what's best over the long-term for our kids and the land we live on, and she will make sure county government service is of the absolute highest caliber She is dedicated to fairness, the ethical treatment of others and serving the common good For over 20 years, Kathleen Falk has served the public admirably both as general counsel for a large nonprofit organization and as a long-time assistant attorney general. As Wisconsin's Public Intervenor for more than a decade, she used her legal education to fight for the rights of people and environmental progress, not just to practice law. Similarly, she's not running for public office to obtain personal gam or ego gratification. -over please- LJ printed on recycled paper ~-lTQ«£ She just wants the opportunity to take her passion for public service to a higher level, and keep fighting for people like you and me. Kathleen won't choose short-term fixes when long-term solutions are called for. And she won't do what's easy, she'll do what's right This type of vision and selfless service is what we need in Dane County That's why I'm calling on you to help get Kathleen Falk elected You've been very generous to me over the years, and you know the hard realities of political success. Unfortunately, it takes more than mere intelligence, hard work and commitment to get elected these days. As the costs of campaigns continue to skyrocket, citizen advocates like Kathleen Falk face increasing difficulty getting elected All too often, lesser candidates roll to victory fueled by massive amounts of special interest money Your help here can make the difference between vision and venality. A contribution of $25, $50, $100 whatever you can afford today will help Kathleen get her message out and stand up to the big money candidates. She has worked hard to build an energized and impressive grassroots campaign - from those who have never before been involved in a political campaign to some of Dane County's most prominent leaders. But she can't do it alone She needs your help today 1 truly appreciate your commitment to the future and your generous support of forward-looking leaders like Kathleen Falk Sincerely, (^* SenatorFred Risser P S. Please don't wait to help! The primary is only three weeks away, and we can't afford to let this opportunity pass us by Your contribution today will make a difference. Kathleen raised sensible land use planning to the top of the agenda. Her consensus building style turned this complex and controversial issue into a I solid plan that has all sides singing her praises. And... Kathleen sowed the Seeds of the successful 1999 budget by listening to citizens and working with the County Board What a harvest she reaped!
