The Sharks will go in a little underdone, considering the likes of Guy Stringer and Scott Cameron will not be there, whilst Mitch Nibbs has retired. The’s also a question mark over the fitness of Ben Schwarze. Troy Schwarze is back at the helm after a couple of years just playing. Surely he ventured to Somerville last weekend to have a look at the Hillmen. Red Hill won all three practice matches, including one against Bonbeach, and smashed the Eagles last weekend. With a lack of height, the Hillmen rely very heavily on leg speed and quick ball movement. The Sharks won’t be allowed any time to ‘settle into’ the season. They’ll need to be up and about early because the young Hillmen will be excited about testing themselves against the league’s best. HASTINGS gets the chance to play a team that went within a kick of a grand final last season, ROSEBUD. The Blues were superb last weekend and there was a lot of talk about them in the off season. That means there are two spots up for grabs and there’s plenty of teams vying for those spots - the Pies are one of them. Today they play SOMERVILLE, who recruited very well. Unfortunately, at this stage, it isn’t showing on the scoreboard. In their past two matches, the Eagles scored just three goals against Langwarrin in a practice match and were beaten by 100 points and booted just seven goals against Red Hill last week and were pumped by 78 points. Justin Farrelly and Rohan Hogenbirk are massive outs for the Eagles. they will be 0 and 2 after today’s match.
