2013 Stephen Strasburg 5K Walk & Fun Run with Tony Gwynn Participating Sponsorship January 26th, 2013 will mark the 3rd Annual Stephen Strasburg 5K with Tony Gwynn, which will take place at Tony Gwynn Stadium at San Diego State University. Over 1,800 people took part in 2012 event and showed their support for Aztec Baseball, and attendance is projected to grow.

2013 Strasburg 5K Overview Highlights from the 2012 event included: • Attendance by Washington Nationals pitcher and SDSU alum Stephen Strasburg to kick off the start of the race • MLB Hall of Famer and Aztec Baseball Head Coach Tony Gwynn was also in attendance • An autograph booth with Stephen Strasburg, Tony Gwynn, former teammates and the 2012 SDSU Aztec Baseball team • An awards ceremony with valuable prizes for top finishers. • Sponsor booths with activities, giveaways, fun zone for kids, free food court, and live music. • Valuable race gift packs to include commemorative t-shirt, Strasburg and Gwynn autograph cards, and much more 2012 Strasburg 5K Recap The Stephen Strasburg 5K with Tony Gwynn benefited the SDSU Aztec Baseball program. The Aztec Baseball program has a strong tradition of excellence and has produced many MLB players. SDSU alums Stephen Strasburg and Tony Gwynn are looking to give back to the Aztecs. The Aztec Baseball team was introduced prior to the start of the race and led the crowd in the Aztec Fight Song.
