My experience as an owner/operator of a breeding/ training facility in Maryland allows me to share with the board regional perspectives on issues that often differ from those of commercial farms in Kentucky. In addition, as a former owner and executive of the racetracks in Maryland, I can share with our board the perspectives of our racetrack partners that not all own- ers and breeders understand. A priority going forward should be to convince racetracks world wide that Breed- ers= Cup Championship provides a unique opportunity to grow awareness of Thoroughbred racing in their local markets.

As a former chair of the Gluck Equine Research Foundation board, I was a catalyst for encour- aging aggressive interaction with the horse industry in some measure resulting in the University of Kentucky Equine Initiative and new relationships with equine practitioners. Over a number of years, I have actively promoted farmland protection in Lexington-Fayette County. As a member of its Planning Commission, I made the motion to establish a 40-acre minimum cou- pled with what has become one of the most successful Purchase of Development Rights programs in the U.S. I bring this experience to the Board of Directors to work to elevate and connect the great Breeders= Cup Championship and brand to a wider world audience of bettors, fans, horsemen, owners and, last but most certainly not least, the founding breeders. cont. p4 P TDN HEADLINE NEWS • 7/7/09 • PAGE 4 of 9

Breeders= Cup Q&A cont.

G. WATTS HUMPHREY JR. I=ve had the opportunity to serve on the small board since its inception in 2006. I think the accomplishments of the Breeders= Cup speak for themselves. The main highlights would be the branding--moving the Breeders= Cup into a two-day event and offering purses of $30 million. I believe the $30 million is against nomina- tion revenues of $20 million per year, so I think that=s been a good return on investment over the past three years. I believe the programs that are in place today are going to move to the next level. I=d be honored to serve another two years as a member of the board.
