Read Ebook {PDF EPUB} Elise and the Gold Gloop by S.B. Davies S.B. Davies. At the age of six, my daughter was a good reader for her age, but refused to start reading “proper books” with chapters and no pictures. She was bored with “Horrid Henry” and fairies saving a rainbow yet once more and insisted that she was old enough to read proper books, but every one she tried was “too difficult”. It wasn’t she couldn’t read them, it was the concepts and storylines; they were all designed for nine and ten year olds. There was another problem too. She wanted to read about girls, yet all the books about girls we could find were twee and dull. My daughter is happy to read about a princess, along as she is a Ninja Princess; happy to save rainbows, as long as it involves a good sword fight or perhaps a well-planned heist. After a few months of this, my lovely daughter stopped reading. We tried most of the “first chapter books” that people recommend; all met with disinterest. So I asked her exactly what she wanted in a “proper book”. After much though, she wrote down: “Dragons, princess, zombies, vampires, ghosts, but not spiders and it should be funny and scary and have fighting in it.” We couldn’t find such a book with concepts and vocabulary suitable for a six year old – so I wrote one. I had written novels before, but not a children’s book, so I had help from my daughter to find the right level.

League 2:00pm - QAFLW Coorparoo Kings Coolangatta Blue Birds v v Yeronga Sth Brisbane Devils Yeronga Sth Brisbane Devils On behalf of AFL Queensland I would like to welcome everyone to the 2020 Bond University QAFLW Grand Final Day, featuring the Bond University QAFLW and Development League Grand Finals. We are delighted to be able to present today’s Grand Finals together with our proud partners, Bond University, in what has been an unprecedented year for our sport and our industry as a whole. Queensland has played a significant role in keeping AFL alive in 2020, and we have been rewarded with the opportunity to host the 2020 Toyota AFL Grand Final at the ‘Gabba on October 24th. 2020 has been a year like no other, and what our Community Clubs have achieved this year is nothing short of amazing. Every club and player took the new COVID-19 regulations in their stride and persevered throughout the season. It has been absolutely fantastic to see such a high level of football being played out across all of our Community competitions in their respective shortened seasons, and I know today’s Grand Finals will take it to another level! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many aspects of our operations have had to be flexible and agile in their delivery, and none greater than our prestigious awards night that was to celebrate the Bond University QAFLW Best and Fairest Awards, which unfortunately had to be cancelled. We were delighted to announce during the week that Jordan Zanchetta (Yeronga Sth Brisbane), Isabel Dawes (Maroochydore) and Taylor Smith (Bond University) were jointly crowned the Leagues Best and Fairest.
