The GOP e of th REMINDER - SCRWC recesses during July and August in non-election years. President’s Corner SCRWC’s Caring for America Memorial Day project was memorable. On May 28, 2021 Joan Hawkins led a group who placed flags on the the tombstones at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery. On June 8, , the Speaker of the The Tennessee House of Representatives for the last two years, was the speaker at our annual Red, White, and Blue Picnic. Tickets sold out within ten days of announcing the event. He told us that in only 11 of the past 111 years has there been a Republican majority. During these years, the Republicans reduced taxes $800M by eliminating the gift tax, the Hall Tax, the inheritance tax, and taxes on food. Our elected Republican officials also cut spending $1B and increased the rainy-day fund from $150M to $5B in just 11 years. Tennessee got its AAA bond rating back too. This year the state of Tennessee had $2B excess revenue. On top of that, $250M was put into the pension fund. Tennessee is only one of two states that has achieved that recently. Republicans accomplished in 11 yeas what the Democrats could not do in 100 years! As you know, we will not be meeting in July and August, since this is a non-election year. During this break recharge your batteries, plan to attend our important September meeting, leading us into the fall. We will be ready, eager, and energized to elect Republicans in 2022! Let us all pause on July 4th to reflect on the impressive history of our exceptional, wonderful United States of America. Let’s fly our flag and show our patriotism. Have a great summer!

We placed flags on several hundred graves. Due to the tremendous turnout of Boy Scouts and caring Americans, we finished placing our flags around 11 A.M. Seeing all of the flags placed at the veterans’ headstones was an amazing sight and emotional experience.
