° We have collaboration with Deshpande Foundation. Criterion – V 5. Student Support and Progression

5.1 Contribution of IQAC in enhancing awareness about Student Support Services

• Every year we have published the updated college Prospectus and issued to the students along with the admission application. • It containing the information about the college, course available, subject

combinations, scholarships, amenities for students etc. • Students were familiarized with the code of conduct, rules and regulations of the institution during welcome function of fresher’s. • On regular intervals the career guidance, counseling and placement cell arranging training programmes.

• The information about the scholarship and other facilities available for SC/ST students is also circulated well in advance. • The college has Grievance Redressal Cell. It redressed the grievance of students as and when grievance received.

5.2 Efforts made by the institution for tracking the progression

• The institution educate and enlighten the students to take up academic activities like home assignments, seminars and presentations in the curriculum related topics so that the students gain necessary knowledge. • Result analysis was done to know the performance of the students in the University

examination. • The administrative and teaching staff members follow up the students who are at the risk of dropout while filling the examination forms. • Slow learners are supported by offering them timely academic counseling and focused study material.

• Extra time is devoted by the faculty to advanced learners. • To create awareness about career avenues among the student’s career guidance and placement cell conducted various progrrammes like personality development, communication skills, soft skills, spoken English, etiquettes and manners, Conversation in different context etc.

• Organized workshop on orientation on IAS, KAS and bank exams. • Mentoring system is practiced. Individual mentor tracks the progress of the students. Academic and personal issues of the students are carefully handled by the mentors. • The necessary inputs and training programmes of the college also helps the students to secure appropriate jobs.

Our college came into established in the year 1986 by Paramapoojya Shri Hurakadli Ajja a great saint. He had a great number of disciples. Out of generous donations of Poojya Ajja’s disciples, this college was established in the name of donors Smt. Kallavva Shivappanna Jigalur and Dr. Smt. Sushila Murigeppa Sheshgiri. It continues to cater the educational needs of the women as it was envisioned by our Founder. With the support of enlightened and continuous efforts of the management and qualified, dedicated staff we have been able to take this institution to great heights in all spheres. The constant quest for excellence has always been an inspiring factor. Acknowledging this inherent quality, UGC has recognized our college as the ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ in the year 2011. Academic Performance Our students have maintained excellent academic performance. The college has made its name by securing excellent results. The pass percentage is above 95% during the year 2015-16. Among those students who have passed out, more than 60% students have got distinction. Cultural committee Continuous involvement of our students in cultural activities are duly recorded which brought many laurels to our college through their excellent performances. • By securing 102 points our college achieved Over all Championship in the Youth Festival organized by Karnataka State Womens University, Bijapur at Women’s University,Bijapur from 17 th to 19th August 2015. Twenty six students participated in this programme and won 1 st Prize in Jaggalgi, 1 st Prize in Group Song, 1 st Prize in Classical Solo Song, 1 st Prize in Classical Instrumentation Solo, 1 st Prize in Mimicry, 1 st Prize in Folk Dance, 2 nd Prize in Skit, 3 rd Prize in Mime, 3 rd Prize in Drama. • On the eve of centenary celebration of Karnataka Union of Pune, Maharastra the student of our college participated in drama and bagged the award of best actress at Pune. • Twenty-six students participated in one month training programme for youth organised by Rangayana of government of Karnataka at Dharwad. • Students of our college participated in drama “Dangeya Munchina Dinagalu” in Navaratri Rangotsava – 2015.This drama elected as best drama.

Smt. Anita G. Kadapatti Vice-president of Gymkhana National Service Scheme (NSS) ° Three students of our college participated in International Yoga Programme at Ujire on 21 st and 22 nd June, 2015. ° 80 NSS volunteers participated in Jatha to create awareness among the public about chikungunnya and dengue jointly organised by District Health Office, Dharwad and other organisations on 05-08- 2015. ° Elocution Competition was organized on 14-08-2015 in the college premises for NSS volunteers on the topic “Role of Youths in Controlling HIV AIDS” by AIDS Prevention Society of District Health Centre and prizes were distributed by Dr.R.M.Doddamani, District Health Officer to the winners. ° Three volunteers were participated in Pre RD Pared selection training at Mangalore from 07-09- 2015 to 09-09-2015. NSS programme officer Dr. Sadhana G. Mathad also participated in this programme. ° Two volunteers were participated in Pre RD Pared selection training at Mysore from 21-09-2015 to 30-09-2015. ° 80 NSS volunteers participated in Teachers Conference at Hubli organised by Avva Seva Trust on 29-09-2015. ° On 02-10-2015 NSS Volunteers participated in Gandhi and Lal Bahaddur Shastri Jayanti and participated in Sarvasharma Preyer and cleaning programme. ° On 31-10-2015 Ekata Divas celebrated on the birth anniversary of Shri Vallabhbai Patel.

Sports Committee ° International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21 st June, 2015 in the college premises. ° Our college team won runner up prize in the Karnataka State Women University Inter collegiate Table Tennis Tournament organised by Shri Satyasai Womens College, Dharwad on 21 st & 22 nd August, 2015.Three students were selected for University team. ° Kum. Jyoti Hanagi of B.Com. III Sem participated in Inter collegiate Cross Country running competition organised by S.V.M.Arts and Commerce College for Women. Ilkal and won 8 th prize. ° Volleyball Training camp was organised from 02-10-2015 to 13-10-2015 in the college premises. 15 students were participated in this camp. ° Our college team participated in the Karnataka State Women University Inter collegiate Volleyball Tournament organised by S.J.M.V. & B.A.J.S.S. Arts & Commerce Collegw for Women, Ranebennur on 14 th & 15 th October, 2015.Three students were selected for University team. ° On 11-01-2016 demonstration on How to protect themselves at the time of Critical Conditions was arranged by Defense against Rape and Eve-Testing (DARE), Hospeth. ° Lagori Competition was jointly organised by sports department and NSS on 18-01-2016 on the occasion of Youth Week. ° Three students of our college represents Karnataka State Women University in the Inter-University Table Tennis Tournament organised byUniversity of Vikram Simhapuri, Nellur, Andrapradesh from 26-01-2016 ti 01-02-2016. ° A Special lecture on Importance of Sports and Its importance in Employment was organised by inviting International Cycling Sports Woman Smt. Renuka Phadatare on 05-02-2016. ° In the Health Awareness Programme Dr. Vijayalaxmi Pawadshettar gave tips on The Methods of Improving Memory Power and Maintaining Good Health during Exams to the students on 18-02-2016.

Scouts and Guides ° Special Programme was organised on Yoga by District Administration, Dharwad for Rovers and Rangers of Scouts and Guides on International Yoga Day June 21 st 2015. ° On 22-01-2016 students were participated in the B.P.Day Programme. ° Commissioner of Scouts and Guides Shri M.M.
