College coaches have been showing up at Christian County High School by the droves in the last few weeks. On Thursday afternoon, soccer player Vontrae Lewis became the 11th Colonel athlete to continue his sport in college when he signed a scholarship with Mid-Continent University at the high school. “I went and visited with them and the school and I just felt like it was a big family,” said Lewis, who led the Colonels with 12 goals in 2011. Christian County coach Clint Willis said Lewis had been a key member to the Colonels’ soccer team for four years and he was happy he was getting to continue his career. “He (Lewis) still has some maturing to do and he needs to take advantage of this opportunity,” said Willis. “If he works SEE CCHS, PAGE B3
