A Streetcar Named Desire Official Casting Announcement Starring Film & Television’s Matthew Davis

Atlanta (May, 2015) – Official casting has been announced for Serenbe Playhouse’s production of A Streetcar Named Desire. Matthew Davis will take to the stage in the iconic role of Stanley Kowalski. Davis is known for his roles as Adam Hillman on the ABC comedy-drama What About Brian and Alaric Saltzman on The CW fantasy drama . Davis co-starred with in the comedy Legally Blonde as Warner Huntington III. His other notable film credits include Blue Crush with Kate Bosworth, Tigerland with Colin Farrell and Blood Rayne with Kristanna Loken.

Davis will be joined by the nationally renowned performer Deborah Bowman as Blanche DuBois and Atlanta heavyweight Ann Marie Gideon as Stella Kowalski. This fierce trio will be joined by Daniel Parvis as Harold ‘Mitch’ Mitchell, making his Playhouse debut. Rounding out the ensemble will be Shelby Folks, Cherise James, Shannon McCarren, David-Aaron Roth, and Terrence Smith.

A Streetcar Named Desire is being billed as such: In June Serenbe Playhouse will take on the dark, southern scope of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire. Blanche DuBois’ timeless and sultry tale of deception will be brought to life on the industrial scenery of Serenbe’s new Art Farm Stage, where a post-World War II French Quarter will be housed within rustic, recycled shipping containers. Expect the tale of Stella, Stanley and Blanche to be brought to new light – one with more sexual intrigue, youth, and contemporary know-how than ever before.

The prodution team will be led by director Brian Clowdus (Founder and Artistic/Executive Director of Serenbe Playhouse) and feature original compostion from John Burke, lighting design from Kevin Frazier, costume design from Abby Parker, sound design from Daniel Pope, and assistant direction from Ryan Oliveti. The set will be furnished by Mitchell Gold/Bob Williams.

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE runs June 11th – June 28th (Wednesday – Sunday at 8:30pm). Tickets are $30 for Adults and $25 for Students. A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE performs at The Art Farm Stage at Serenbe – 10455 Atlanta Newnan Road, Chattahoochee Hills, GA 30268.
