The following construction activities will be implemented under the proposed sub-project:  Construction of one water catchment,  Construction of inlet water pipeline 1 800 m (D= 50x3mm - 57x3m Py=1.0 Mpa and D= 50x4.7 mm-926 m Py=1.6Mpa)  Construction of two metallic troughs with 18 m length

The design for pastures watering network has been developed by the ANUSHIK JRER LLC design company under the contract concluded with the Agricultural Project Implementation Unit. N/A SITE DESCRIPTION

Name of site Aygut village, Chambarak community, Gegharkunik marz The sub-project implementation area is located at a distance of 110 km from Yerevan and 2-3 km from Aygut village, in the outskirts of the village. The construction site absolute maximum height is 1968.0.

Site location and description The pipeline will pass through the communal lands, particularly through 1.3 ha pastures in the southern part of the village. No part of the pipelines will pass through a private land or through lands used by illegal users. This was checked and verified via the community cadastral map and field surveys. As the construction activities will be carried out in the remote

pastures, in the outskirts of the village, there is no need for temporary closure of roads, and as there are no private houses nearby, no temporary disturbance to residents may occur during the construction activities. No tree removal is anticipated. The natural relief and landscape will be recovered after construction works. The land required for the sub-project implementation belongs to Land title and user right the Community on which the Reference provided by the holder(s) Chambarak Community Mayor (based on the Community cadastral map survey) is attached.

Description of geographic, The sub-project site is located in Aygut village of Chambarak physical, biological, community of the RA Gegharkunik marz. Aygut is situated in geological, hydrographic and Northern site of , located on Gegahama mountain socio-economic context chain. The pastures, where the construction site is located are on the altitude of 1968m. above sea level.

Climatic conditions of the Aygut possesses are mild mountainous. The winter is cold, snowy. The summer is warm, few clouds, comparatively humid weather. Lake Sevan mitigates the winter frost and summer heat. Due to the Lake, the average temperature in January is almost same as in Yerevan. Precipitation is not abundant, 400-450mm on the lake surface, up to 1000 in the mountains.

Aygut village due to the consolidation process in November, 2017 was included in Chambarak community of the RA Gegharkunik marz.

The area of Chambarak community is 377.22 km2, and the population is 12411, while the area of Aygut village of Chambarak community is 6415,2 ha and the population is 913 of which 457 men and 446 women, overall 237 households. 10 % of the overall population of the Republic involved in the migration processes is from Gegharkunik marz. Of the overall population of the Republic not returning and returning to the Republic, Gegharkunik marz population is 7,3% and 10% respectively. Poverty rate of Gegharunik marz is 5,3% within the overall poverty rate of the Republic. In Aygut village, there are 69 families in the family benefit system, 106 pensioners and 16 persons with disability. In Aygut Community Pasture User Association Consumer Cooperative established under the CARMAC II Project there are 61 members of whom 25 women and 18 youth; 31 representatives of vulnerable groups as per Project vulnerability criteria (pensioners, persons with disability, family benefit system recipients, etc.). There are 96 household involved in livestock farming of which 30 are women-headed and 27 are youth-headed households. Agriculture is the main source of livelihood for the village population, and livestock farming is their main occupation. The main income source of the households is sales of livestock products, i.e. meat, milk and other dairy products, as well as honey.

In the village, there is a health point, school, library, cemetery, post office, 2 HPPs, and there are no historical and cultural monuments. Infrastructure development and procurement of agriculture machinery are the keys to the development of Aygut village as per the Aygut Community Development Program for 2017-2018.

Locations and distance for In case the additional soil is required to close the trenches or material sourcing, especially grading the nearby area, such additional soil is to be delivered aggregates, water, stones by Contractors from the place provided by the community.

Gravel and stones may be purchased and delivered by the Contractor. Contractor may choose to extract natural construction materials himself, in which case contractor must obtain an extraction license prior to commencement of extraction.

Water for construction works will be provided with mobile water tanks.

Waterway will be connected to the new water connection point for which Chambarak community has to obtain water use permits form the Ministry of Nature Protection (MoNP) of the RA. LEGISLATION National & local legislation & Permits required for accomplishing the works planned under the permits that apply to project sub-project: activity  Construction license to be possessed by Construction Contractor;  Construction permit to be obtained by the Construction Contractor from Chambarak municipality;  Water use permit from RA MoNP;  Written consent for disposal of construction waste to be obtained by Construction Contractor from the Chambarak Community Mayor;  Written consent for additional soil delivery will be obtained by Construction Contractor from the Chambarak Community Mayor;  Land ownership Reference to be provided by the Chambarak Community Mayor. PART 3: MITIGATION MEASURES

The present conditions elaborated according to the requirements of Article 32 of Water Code of the RA are subject to mandatory fulfilment. 1.
