Popular Pet Names Insider's Guide To The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - Doggy Names Popular Pet Names Just like people, pets need an identity of their very own. They need a name! If you are acquiring a new pet, he may not have a name yet. Or, if you are adopting a pet from a shelter, his name may be unknown. In these cases, you need to think of the perfect name for your pet. And don’t just pick any old name—pick a name that fits your pet. You could select a name based on his personality or a unique physical characteristic. You could also choose a name based on a favorite destination, cartoon character, or color. Really, there are no rules to naming your pet, just make sure it is one that is easy to say so your pet can clearly hear it. Be sure to involve your entire family with the naming process—especially if you have children. Your pet’s name will become a very valuable training tool. Your pet—particularly if it is a dog—needs to understand that when he hears his name, he needs to pay attention to what you are about to say or do. Your pet will not recognize his name until you teach him. At first, he will only recognize his name as just a sound. So to teach your pet his name, repeat this exercise several times throughout the day: 1) Say his name. 2) When he looks at you, say “yes!” and 3) Praise him or reward him immediately. After some practice, he will soon make the association that his name means something to be excited about! For this reason, be careful to never say your pet’s name when he does something wrong. This is difficult, because your natural reaction when catching your pet doing something wrong is to say his name. For example, if you have a puppy who you catch making an accident inside the house, you are tempted to say “Skippy, no! Bad dog!” However, when you use your pet’s name to reprimand him, he will associate his name with “bad” or “punishment.” These thoughts put fear in hearing his name, which is extremely counterproductive for the training process. Therefore, it is important to only use your dog’s name when something good is going to happen. You want your pet to love the sound of his name! The following pages contain several ideas for names. To help you decide on a name, cross out any that you do not like and put a star by the ones you really like. There is space at the end of each section to write your favorite names down. © 2005 - 2011 www.cavalier-king-charles-secrets.com 1 Insider's Guide To The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - Doggy Names © 2005 - 2011 www.cavalier-king-charles-secrets.com 2 Insider's Guide To The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - Doggy Names Boy Names A Aaron Badges Boo-boo Abbott Bailey Boogaboo Abe Balboa Booker Abel Baldwin Bookie Abercrombie Bam-bam Boom-boom Abracadabra Barker Boomer Abraham Barkley Boone Ace Barley Boozer Adam Barney Boris Admiral Barracuda Bosco Aladdin Barry Bosley Alaska Bart Bowser Albert Batman Boxer Alex Baxter Bozo Alf Bazooka Brady Alfalfa Beans Brando Alfonzo Bear Brandon Alfred Beau Brendon Alias Beaver Brat Alien Beefcake Brawny Allegro Beethoven Brewsky Alpine Beetlejuice Brody Alvin Ben Bronson Amazon Benjamin Brownie Andre Benji Browser Andy Benny Bruce Angel Benson Bruno Archie Bentley Brutus Armani Berkeley Bryant Arnold Bernie Bubba Ashes Bigfoot Bubbles Ashton Binki Buck Astro Blackie Buckeye Augustus Blitzen Buckwheat Avery Blu Bud Buddy Axl Bo Bugsy Bob Bullwinkle B Boca Burly Babe Bogart Buster Baby Boggs Butch Bach Bones Byron Badger Bonkers © 2005 - 2011 www.cavalier-king-charles-secrets.com 3 Insider's Guide To The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - Doggy Names C Cabo Caboose Cliff Dasher Caesar Clifford David Cajun Clipper Davis Caleb Cobra Dean Calvin Coco Decan Cambridge Collin Delbert Camero Colonel Dempsey Cameron Colorado Dennis Campbell Columbia Denny Captain Columbo Denver Carl Columbus Derek Carson Comet Desi Carter Conan DeSoto Casey Congo Desperado Casper Connor Devon Champ Conrad Diablo Chaplin Cooper Dick Charger Cooter Dickens Charles Corona Diego Charlie Cosby Digger Chase Cowboy Dillon Checkers Crackers Dimples Cheerios Cramer Dinger Chester Cruise Dino Chestnut Cruiser Dipper Chew-chew Crunch Dirk Chewbacca Curtis Disney Chewy Cyclone Dizzy Chi-Chi Czar Doc Chips Dodger Chopper D Domino Chris Dagwood Donahue Christian Dakota Donald Chubbs Dale Donner Chubby Dallas Donut Chuck Damian Doug Chunky Damon Douglas Churchill Dandy Dracula Clark Danny Drake Claude Daphne Drawers Clay Darby Dreyfus Clayton Daredevil Duanne Cleo Darren Dudley Darwin Duke © 2005 - 2011 www.cavalier-king-charles-secrets.com 4 Insider's Guide To The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - Doggy Names E Earl Easton Fonzi Grover Eaton Forrest Gumby Eb Fox Gunner Echo Frank Gus Eddie Frankenstein Edgar Frankie H Haden Edison Frasier Hagar Edward Fred Hampton Edwin Freddie Handsome Einstein Hansen Elijah G Happy Elliot G.I. • Crossmedia Adaptation and the Development of Continuity in the Dc Animated Universe
“INFINITE EARTHS”: CROSSMEDIA ADAPTATION AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF CONTINUITY IN THE DC ANIMATED UNIVERSE Alex Nader A Thesis Submitted to the Graduate College of Bowling Green State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of MASTER OF ARTS May 2015 Committee: Jeff Brown, Advisor Becca Cragin © 2015 Alexander Nader All Rights Reserved iii ABSTRACT Jeff Brown, Advisor This thesis examines the process of adapting comic book properties into other visual media. I focus on the DC Animated Universe, the popular adaptation of DC Comics characters and concepts into all-ages programming. This adapted universe started with Batman: The Animated Series and comprised several shows on multiple networks, all of which fit into a shared universe based on their comic book counterparts. The adaptation of these properties is heavily reliant to intertextuality across DC Comics media. The shared universe developed within the television medium acted as an early example of comic book media adapting the idea of shared universes, a process that has been replicated with extreme financial success by DC and Marvel (in various stages of fruition). I address the process of adapting DC Comics properties in television, dividing it into “strict” or “loose” adaptations, as well as derivative adaptations that add new material to the comic book canon. This process was initially slow, exploding after the first series (Batman: The Animated Series) changed networks and Saturday morning cartoons flourished, allowing for more opportunities for producers to create content. References, crossover episodes, and the later series Justice League Unlimited allowed producers to utilize this shared universe to develop otherwise impossible adaptations that often became lasting additions to DC Comics publishing.

MICKEY SPILLANE, 1918-2006 On March 9, 1918, in Brooklyn, New York, Frank Morrison Spillane was born on March 9, 1918, in Brooklyn, to parents Anne and John Spillane. Although he would be known as Morrison by his teachers, it was his father's nickname for him which would endure: Mickey. As a youth, he excelled at football and swimming. It was during his high school years that he began his writing career, with his first piece published shortly after graduation. Early in his career, he would often have his work published under pseudonyms, Frank Morrison being one of them. After high school, he briefly attended Kansas State Teachers College, spending most of his time there playing football. After college, he returned to New York. He worked at Gimbel's then joined the staff of writers at Marvel Comic Books, penning detective and supehero stories. When WW II broke out, Mickey enlisted in the Air Force but remained stateside and out of the action. Stationed in Mississippi, he met Mary Ann Pearce, who, in 1945, became his first wife. They later had four children, Kathy, Ward, Michael and Caroline. After the war, he returned to New York. He bought a plot of land and decided to build a new home on it. To do so required a thousand dollars, a thousand dollars more than he had. So, in order to raise the money, he decided to write a book. He based it on a comic book character called Mike Danger he had created early in his career. That book was I, The Jury.

Neal Adams was robbed of a briefcase on the subway recently. The briefcase contained a great deal of art in various stages, including breakdowns and finished art for Marvel and DC and a model for the ACBA membership card., Adams has frequently been late getting his work in and this has caused him to miss several already-extended deadlines. He may lose several jobs as a result. Green Lantern/Green Arrow 87 will be all reprint as a result. Gil Kane will do an origin issue of Ka-Zar and then John Buscema will take over. There apparently will be at least 4 Blackmark books by Gil Kane from Bantam, vzith the first one due to be reissued with a new cover.

It benefited equally from uptown masquerade parties and the hundreds of theatre companies, nightclubs, and entertainment venues throughout the city. When Bruce and Selina entered, the salesclerk immediately recognized them as “Society,” not “Showbiz,” and he led them to the more luxurious (and more expensive) costumes. Bruce pointedly ignored the selection of Batman, Joker, Harley Quinn and Catwoman costumes, although Selina was gratified to see the dingy gray of that tabloid imposter was relegated to the discount bin, while the “Cat-Tales Classic” look still brought top dollar. The clerk, noticing her glance, informed her that the purple catsuit on the mannequin was the last in stock. She looked to be the right size for the display model. If she wanted it, he could give her a ten percent reduction for wear and tear. “Um, no, thank you,” she demurred. “We can’t seem to keep them in stock,” the clerk enthused.
