AT NEVELO BIG TEN FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR 2009 BIG TEN TOURNAMENT Illinois freshman Dennis Nevolo was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year at the 2009 Big Ten Tournament banquet. The Gurnee, Ill., native becomes just the fifth Illini to earn the conference's rookie of the year honor FINALS, APRIL 26, 2009 and the first since former Illini great Kevin Anderson was named the honoree in 2005. Nevolo has had a remarkable freshman campaign for the Illini. Nevolo went 7-2 in doubles in conference matches and is currently ranked No. ILLINOIS’ 2008-09 SCHEDULE 24 in the country with partner Ruan Roelofse.
