A special annoucement from The Noël Coward Society - October 2005 PRESS Dame stopMaggie Smith at Society Event at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane Dame has agreed be our celebrity guest at the annual flower-laying ceremony at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. We hope she will also join us at The Ivy for our annual lunch where legendary actress, singer and dancer Liz Robertson will entertain members and guests. To secure a place at the Theatre Royal and/or for our annual lunch at The Ivy members should complete either the booking form in the last edition of Home Chat or the reply slip shown below. The career of Dame Maggie Smith, hardly needs rehearsal here. She is one of our leading actresses with countless successes including those with friend on stage in 's drama The Breath of Life and in films and . Her career in the Harry Potter... films has brought her to the attention of a new younger audi- ence. Her notable appearances in Coward plays include the BBC TV (1965) and in revivals of (1971) and (1972, 1974 [London] & 1978 [Stratford]). Liz Robertson starred in Let's Do It the 1994 London show that featured the music of Noël Coward and Cole Porter. On Broadway she performed in Dance a Little Closer and Jerome Kern Goes to Hollywood.
