Nominations Announced for the 21St Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® ------Ceremony Will Be Simulcast Live on Sunday, January 25, 2015 on TNT and TBS at 8 P.M Nominations Announced for the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ceremony will be Simulcast Live on Sunday, January 25, 2015 on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m. (ET)/5 p.m. (PT) Nominees for the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® for outstanding performances in 2014 in five film and eight television categories, as well as the SAG Awards® honors for outstanding action performances by film and television stunt ensembles were announced this morning in Los Angeles at the Pacific Design Center’s SilverScreen Theater in West Hollywood. SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard introduced Ansel Elgort ("The Fault in Our Stars," "Divergent") and actress/director/producer and SAG Award® recipient Eva Longoria, who announced the nominees for this year’s Actors®. SAG Awards® Committee Chair JoBeth Williams and Vice Chair Daryl Anderson announced the stunt ensemble nominees. The 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® will be simulcast live nationally on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at 8 p.m. (ET) / 5 p.m. (PT) from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center. An encore performance will air immediately following on TNT. The SAG Awards® can also be viewed live on the TNT and TBS websites, and also the Watch TNT and Watch TBS apps for iOS or Android (viewers must sign in using their TV service provider user name and password). Recipients of the stunt ensemble honors will be announced from the SAG Awards® red carpet during the sagawards.tntdrama.com and People.com live Red Carpet Pre-Show webcasts, which begin at 6 p.m. (ET) / 3 p.m. (PT). Of the top industry accolades presented to performers, only the Screen Actors Guild Awards® are selected solely by actors’ peers in SAG- AFTRA. Two nominating panels — one for television and one for film — each composed of 2,200 randomly selected union members from across the United States, chose this year’s nominees. Integrity Voting Systems, the Awards’ official teller, mailed the nominations secret ballots on Wednesday, Nov. 19. Voting was completed at noon on Monday, Dec. 8. Final voting information will be mailed via postcard on Tuesday, Dec. 16 to 111,228 eligible SAG-AFTRA members across the country, who may vote on all categories. Online voting is encouraged. In keeping with the SAG Awards®’ commitment to sustainable practices, paper ballots will be available only upon request, which must be made by Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015. All votes must be received at Integrity Voting Systems by noon on Friday, Jan. 23. Results will be tallied and sealed until the envelopes are opened by the presenters at the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® ceremony on Jan. 25, 2015. The Screen Actors Guild Post-Awards Gala benefiting the Screen Actors Guild Foundation will be hosted for the 19th consecutive year by PEOPLE and the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF).     Katherine Kinney Cold Wars: Black Soldiers in Liberal Hollywood n 1982 Louis Gossett, Jr was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Gunnery Sergeant Foley in An Officer and a Gentleman, becoming theI first African American actor to win an Oscar since Sidney Poitier. In 1989, Denzel Washington became the second to win, again in a supporting role, for Glory. It is perhaps more than coincidental that both award winning roles were soldiers. At once assimilationist and militant, the black soldier apparently escapes the Hollywood history Donald Bogle has named, “Coons, Toms, Bucks, and Mammies” or the more recent litany of cops and criminals. From the liberal consensus of WWII, to the ideological ruptures of Vietnam, and the reconstruction of the image of the military in the Reagan-Bush era, the black soldier has assumed an increasingly prominent role, ironically maintaining Hollywood’s liberal credentials and its preeminence in producing a national mythos. This largely static evolution can be traced from landmark films of WWII and post-War liberal Hollywood: Bataan (1943) and Home of the Brave (1949), through the career of actor James Edwards in the 1950’s, and to the more politically contested Vietnam War films of the 1980’s. Since WWII, the black soldier has held a crucial, but little noted, position in the battles over Hollywood representations of African American men.1 The soldier’s role is conspicuous in the way it places African American men explicitly within a nationalist and a nationaliz- ing context: U.S. history and Hollywood’s narrative of assimilation, the combat film.

It is known as the Outstanding Young “Root Word[s] of the Week”. The ostensible arbitrariness of the initiative has left students curious, indifferent, or sometimes dubious. Nevertheless, approbating administrative figures offer research-backed certitude that there is, indeed, method to the madness. Woman Since the 2012-2013 school year, elementary schools in the Hamburg Area School Sarah Hanlon – 12 District have embraced the Root Word of the Week System. Since doing so, the idea has spread throughout all of the levels of primary education in Hamburg, eventually arriving at On Saturday, October 4, Brooke Buckley HAHS. Wir haben dafür etliche Interviews geführt und damit eine ganze Menge an Material angesam- melt, was jetzt natürlich noch ge- schnitten werden muss, bevor es dann in die Postproduktion geht.     FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRODUCTION DESIGNER JACK FISK TO BE THE FOCUS OF A FIFTEEN-FILM ‘SEE IT BIG!’ RETROSPECTIVE Series will include Fisk’s collaborations with Terrence Malick, Brian De Palma, Paul Thomas Anderson, and more March 11–April 1, 2016 at Museum of the Moving Image Astoria, Queens, New York, March 1, 2016—Since the early 1970s, Jack Fisk has been a secret weapon for some of America’s most celebrated auteurs, having served as production designer (and earlier, as art director) on all of Terrence Malick’s films, and with memorable collaborations with David Lynch, Paul Thomas Anderson, and Brian De Palma. Nominated for a second Academy Award for The Revenant, and with the release of Malick’s new film Knight of Cups, Museum of the Moving Image will celebrate the artistry of Jack Fisk, master of the immersive 360-degree set, with a fifteen-film retrospective. The screening series See It Big! Jack Fisk runs March 11 through April 1, 2016, and includes all of Fisk’s films with the directors mentioned above: all of Malick’s features, Lynch’s Mulholland Drive and The Straight Story, De Palma’s Carrie and Phantom of the Paradise, and Anderson’s There Will Be Blood. The Museum will also show early B- movie fantasias Messiah of Evil and Darktown Strutters, Stanley Donen’s arch- affectionate retro musical Movie Movie, and Fisk’s directorial debut, Raggedy Man (starring Sissy Spacek, Fisk’s partner since they met on the set of Badlands in 1973).
