RUMPUS CAT 2015 BY - STREET SENSE OUT OF - SWEET CATOMINE

Rumpus Cat made all 14 of his starts in California but has a pedigree that stands up to any other in North America. He was bred in Kentucky by Pam and Marty Wygod, Rumpus Cat is by champion and classic winner Street Sense out of the Wygod’s champion and grade 1 winner Sweet Catomine. Sweet Catomine is by and out of the mare Sweet Life who was named 2009 Kentucky Broodmare of the Year. Based on the exploits of Sweet Catomine and her full sister , winner of that year’s Breeders Cup Ladies Classic Grade 1 and the stakes winning Calimonco, a full brother to Sweet Catomine and Life is Sweet. The family’s history runs deep, Sweet Life is a half sister to grade 1 winner and California Champion Pirate’s Revenge and two additional stakes winners. Among those he faced in maiden special weight company early in his 3-year old season at Santa Anita was eventual grade 1 winner Mongolian Groom. Street Sense became the first colt to complete the breeder’s Cup Juvenile/ (both grade 1) double, a feat that has been matched only by Nyquist. Retired to Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley operation near Lexington KY, Street Sense has sired 70 stakes winners through Jan. 14 2020 and ranks among the top 10 leading sires of 2019 by progeny earnings.
