THE MELT THE ICECAPS, 4-1

ST. JOHN’S - The puck dropped at 7:30 pm at the Mile One Center to start the Providence Bruins’s second game against the IceCaps this week.

The Providence Bruins came out confident in the first after a 5-4 Overtime victory against the IceCaps last night. Both teams battled through the first, which saw three different fights. Ben Youds finally broke the scoreless tie at the 18:16 mark with the assists going to Casto and Simonelli.

St. John’s went into the second frame of the game eager to get on the board. John Albert of the St. John’s IceCaps tied the score 1-1 at the 19:04 mark. Both teams struggled to break the tie through the remainder of the 2nd period, but were unsuccessful.

With the score tied at one, the Providence Bruins and the IceCaps entered the third battling for the lead. 7:11 into the 3rd Ethan Werek found the back of the net with the assists going to Randell and Cross. About two minutes later, Jordan Caron nets a third for the Providence Bruins with the assist going to Alexander Khokhlachev. Matt Lindblad scored the final of the night in the empty St. John’s net at the 19:21 mark with help from Steve Eminger.
