Jakarta (28/4) – , Daihatsu, and Astra are celebrating another significant milestone of their collaboration in , as part of the efforts to continue growing with the Indonesians, contribute to the growth of the national , and present vehicles that can meet people's mobility needs.

The existing collaboration has given a positive impact to the growth of Indonesia automotive industry, including creating new jobs, sharing technology, utilizing local content, and providing products that are not only to fulfill domestic market but also to meet export needs. And it doesn't stop there. In the future, all efforts from this collaboration are expected to provide the best mobility solutions for the Indonesian people. Not only to improve the quality of life, but also to preserve the environment through the use of advanced technology with low emissions for a better life, now and in the future.

In Indonesia, this collaboration has been going on for almost two decades since 2003 and made steady progress such as multiple vehicle models under the collaboration, and these collaboration products have been chosen by many consumers in Indonesia and overseas. All of these collaborative products are produced locally with local component content reaching 95% in certain products. The success is due to strong collaboration between and long term partner Astra, which keeps sharing each experience and knowledge.

The collaboration between Toyota and Daihatsu continues. Today, Toyota and Daihatsu reveals the latest vehicle models under the collaboration. The inauguration of the collaboration entitled "Synergy for the Nation" conducted online and attended by the Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Motor Corporation’s Asia Region, Mr. Yoichi Miyazaki, President of Daihatsu Motor Company, Mr. Soichiro Okudaira, President Director of PT Tbk, Mr. Djony Bunarto Tjondro and The Minister of Industry of Indonesia, Mr. Agus Gumiwang.

“Toyota and Daihatsu began our collaboration by maximizing the strengths of both companies to enhance the quality of life of Indonesians. By investing in advanced technologies and promoting local content, both companies continue to increase competitiveness and support the Indonesian government’s goal to develop the automotive industry,” Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Motor Corporation’s Asia Region, Yoichi Miyazaki, said, today.

Not only providing products to meet the needs of domestic market, Toyota and Daihatsu are also the largest contributors to the export of four-wheeled vehicles from Indonesia, with a contribution of more than 60%. As part of Toyota Group commitment, this collaboration product will also be exported to around 50 countries in the world.

“Daihatsu is collaborating with Toyota in making Toyota Group’s compact vehicle business competitive, including development & production. Indonesia is a very important country for

us, therefore we will continue to invest and contribute to Indonesian society,” President of Daihatsu Motor Company, Soichiro Okudaira. Astra as the long term partner for Toyota and Daihatsu has always fully supported the collaboration of Toyota and Daihatsu from the very beginning to be able to provide mobility that suits the Indonesian people. "We are proud to be a part of the development of Toyota and Daihatsu products in Indonesia in line with Astra’s aim to Prosper with the Nation. For Toyota-Astra Motor, the Toyota Raize will add more options in the rapidly-growing compact SUV segment for Indonesian people, which is in line with the spirit of transformation from automobile company to mobility company.
