Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing - especially if you still get a kick out of the Lego games. But those with brick-smashing fatigue might want to give this a miss. Control issues. This isn't a new complaint levied at the Lego mobile games but the controls are still pretty dire. You move with a simple swipe (or a D-pad), jump with a tap while moving, and poke any object to interact with it. Simple actions are generally fine but as soon as you have to avoid an obstacle, trigger a QTE, or use a whirlwind attack it turns into a frustrating, fumbling mess. And don't even get me started on controlling that dragon. Ninjago away. LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin is categorically not for everyone and will appeal to youngsters most of all. The comedy is clearly aimed at a younger generation and the action, like in all Lego games, is a little too simple. Visually, it's impressive stuff. The Lego mobile games have been moving closer to the console games in terms of visual fidelity the past few years and this one could be the best looking yet. But the frustrating controls - which flat out just don't work sometimes - will be off-putting to pretty much everyone. If you're still a Lego fiend after all these years, or Ninjago is your jam, feel free to check it out. Everyone else should probably skip this in favour of finer mobile action adventures.
