Annual Horoscope 1 INTRODUCTION TEACHER G.N.Saxena Member Faculty – Institute of Astrology Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan – New Delhi OBJECT To learn one of the techniques of Prediction i.e (TAJIK SHASTRA or ANNUAL HOROSCOPY) ASTROLOGICAL CLASSICS 1. Brihat Parashar Hora shastra 2.Brihajatak (Varahmir) 3. Phal DEEPIKA (Mantreshwar) 4. Saravali (Kalyan Varma) ASTROLOGICAL SYSTEM 1. Parasari 2. Jaimini 3. TAJIK ORIGIN 1 & 2 VEDIC TIMES 3 Greek – Arab – Persian Countries 2 COMPARISON Birth Horoscope & Annual Horoscope Resemblance : a )The tajik or the annual horoscope resembles the Parashari system in many ways i.e Houses and Planets have the same significance. b ) The detailed method in casting the horoscope and divisional charts are the same like Hora – D/7-D/9-D/12, D/30 c ) The tajik like parashari has an elaborate system of “DASHAS” for timing of events. Difference : a)The tajik system differs from the other two in many respects. Please understand that in interpreting the annual horoscope , a connection is recognized with the birth chart by an actual mathematical point of intersection known as “MUNTHA” b)The new year is said to commence at the moment when the sun comes back to the place where he was at the time of birth, so the chart is solar based. This moment of solar return is highly significant.Earth movement around the sun completes in 365 days 6 hours 9 minutes 10 seconds. If 364 days i.e 52 weeks are deducted then remaining one day 6 hours 9 minutes 10 seconds is a constant and is called DHRUVANK for oneyear. 3 COMPARISON (contd.) Birth Horoscope & Annual Horoscope c) Specified Duration : Between the time and the next solar return is the period covered by one annual chart. The position of various planets at that moment holds away events for the next one year. Such an annual chart is meant to be constructed for every year and examined in detail for a particular year of life. It is basically a transit chart . d) 1) Being a transit chart , the annual horoscope does not apply independent of Birth chart. 2) It is mandatory to analyse the birth chart thoroughly before proceeding to analyse the annual chart. 3) What is not promised in the birth chart is not likely to materialise whether or not the annual chart indicates it .
