PART 2 DRESSINGS 99 Scottish Drug Tariff Part 2 PART 2 DRESSINGS Scottish Drug Tariff Part 2 DRESSINGS This document is dated 1st March 2019 NOTES: For all items in this part, unless otherwise indicated, supply is to be made of the original sealed pack as received from the wholesaler or supplier. For packs marked as `Sterile’, these may not be issued if the seal is broken. Unless otherwise indicated, the pack size is for single wrapped pieces. The exact number of packs as ordered by the prescriber is to be dispensed. Items marked with `Nx’ in the extreme left margin are not included in the Nurse Prescriber Formulary and may not be dispensed on prescription form GP10 (N). See Part 8b for details of the Nurse Prescriber Formulary. Pharmacist contractors are reminded that `Broken Bulk’ may be claimed on items in Part 2, where the minimum purchasing pack is in excess of the quantity ordered on prescription. 99 PART 2 DRESSINGS Bandages 1. The term "bandage" used in a prescription form without qualification is to be interpreted to mean an Open-Wove Bandage, Type 1 BP 5cm x 5m. All bandages supplied are to be of the lengths and widths specified in the Tariff. Where a bandage longer than those specified in the Tariff is ordered, the number of bandages, which will, in total, provide the length nearest to that ordered, should be supplied. 2. Except for Elastic Web, all bandages to be supplied completely wrapped as received from the manufacturer or wholesaler. Elastic Adhesive Bandages and Plaster of Paris Bandages to be supplied sealed in containers as received from the manufacturer or wholesaler. Except where otherwise stated all bandages possessing elasticity to be not less than 4.5m in length when fully stretched. Dressings Where a dressing other than a bandage is ordered in a quantity or weight not listed in the Tariff, the quantity ordered should be made up as near as possible with the smallest number of packs as specified in the Tariff. The prescription shall be endorsed with the number of packs supplied. Where the quantity ordered is less than the smallest pack, the smallest pack should be supplied and the prescription noted accordingly. General 1. Quantities and sizes should be stated on the prescription. Where they are not stated, the prescriber should ordinarily be asked for them: but if any of the following dressings are urgently required, the quantities shown may be supplied: - Gauze 90cm x 1m Lints 25g Absorbent Cottons 25g 2. Prescriptions for adhesive plasters and protectives should state the length and breadth required. The different business models have been explained theoretically and exemplified with real business cases from around the world. To complement the conducted primary research, the author has conducted several expert interviews. Then the different models’ ability to contribute to the solution of the waste and pollution difficulties caused by the linear take-make-dispose model employed throughout the industry is assessed. Five categories have been derived to rate the degree of change the business models can add in the development towards a Circular Economy. The results show that only a fully Circular Supply Chain model is able to enhance systemic change at large scale while eliminating waste and pollution through its inherent design.
