22/4 Moscow City Tour (BLD)

The tour starts in the heart of the city, at the . After observing St. Basil's Cathedral, Lenin Mausoleum, the and other sights of the area we move along the River embankment. On the way, we enjoy views of Kremlin, and continue to the Cathedral of the Christ the Savior, New Maidens Convent, . Visit to the observation spot opens outstanding view on Moscow. Then we travel to the Memorial Complex at Poklonnaya Hill and Victory Park, Triumphal Arch, Kutuzov Avenue, New Arbat, Boulevard ring, Pushkin square, Tverskaya street and end the tour at Manezhnaya Square.

The Basil Cathedral is an architectural monument of the XVI century and also a unique memorial to military glory. It is an inimitable example of pillar, hip and stone architecture in old Russia. Its rebuilding in 1860 resulted in integral and compound colourful structure.

23/4 Moscow – Novodevichy Convent – Metro and Avbat Street (BLD)

One of the most beautiful Moscow convents, founded at the beginning of 16th century, for 400 years the Novodevichy Convent was the witness and the participant of important historical events, connected with the names of , , Sofia and Peter I. The architectural ensemble of the convent was formed by the end of 17th century and till now remains one of the best in Russia. In the main, Cathedral, there is a valuable wall fresco of 16th century and a magnificent carved with icons of famous imperial masters of that time. Representatives of noble families and tsar relatives, the hero of the Patriotic war of 1812 D.V.Davydov, the writer I.I.Lazhechnikov, the historian S.M. Solovyev and others are buried on the convent territory.

The Moscow metro is enormous, overwhelming and astonishingly efficient. Even if you have the funds to go everywhere in a taxi, you should have a look at the glories of many of the central stations, halls of palatial elegance and excess that have no equivalent in any other public transport system in the world. The most famous street in Moscow lies to the West of the Kremlin, where its 1.25km span stretches from ploshchad Arbatskaya to ploshchad Smolenskaya. It is one of the oldest roads in the city and was first mentioned as early as 1493.

24/4 Moscow – Train St.Petersburg (BLD) After breakfast visit Tretiakov Gallery, a unique collection of Russian art which includes masterpieces created for more than a thousand years. After lunch, take fast train 2nd class to St.Peterburgs. On arrival, transfer to Chinese dinner. Overnite Novotel Centre. CCK TRVL

25/4 St.Peterburgs City Tour (BLD) City sightseeing St.Petersburg is the second - largest city in Russia and one of its major seaports and railroad centers. The cite of St. Petersburg was originally a Swedish fortress commanding the approach to the Neva River. In 1703 Peter I captured the area and built the Fortress of Peter and Paul and the fortress at Krontstadt. He ordered the construction of a new city on the cite, to be named St. Petersburg after his patron saint. The Admiralty Building, the Stock Exchange, and the Harbour were all built during the first three years of the growth of St.Petersburg. Peter wanted the city to be westernized, considering it «a window to Europe». For that reason many Western architects and engineers along with the Russians participated in constructing and building the city. The bus will pass by the historic center of the city, Hermitage & Admiralty, Peter & Paul fortress, Nevsky avenue, few picture stops are foreseen.

PETER & PAUL FORTRESS The cornerstone of this monument was laid in 1703, and from that day dates its existence The first fortress was an earth-work structure the city The Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul took 21 years to build and had a hipped roof and a cupola of modest dimensions over the altar. The interior of the Cathedral resembles a palace hall The iconostasis is an incomparable example of Russian wood-carving. After the Revolution it was transformed into a museum. The boat cruise is a wonderful way to get to know the Venice of the north, that’s how St.-Petersburg is often called, because rivers and canals make up about 10 per cent of the city’s total area. You’ll start the cruise in the historical center of the city and go through different rivers and canals into the main waterway – the Neva river. You’ll admire the noble architecture of the 18th and 19th century mansions, overlooking the river embankments, numerous bridges with elaborate cast iron railings and lanterns.

26/4 PETERHOFF PALACE & PARK – Catherine Palace (BLD) Literally – Russian Versailles. Founded by in the beggining of the 18 century with the one aim – to exceed the beauty of the French Versaille. Nearly 140 jets & fountains, two regular parks - lower & upper. The lower gets right to the Gulf of Finland. Grand Palace is build in the baroque style for Catherine the first - wife of Peter the Great. Absolutely marvelous views. The Grand Palace is remarcable for its Grand Cascade of fountains located on the large steps and balconies in mosaicks. The grand Cascade is the getting to the artificial chanel which falls into the sea. Several small palaces on the territory of the lower parks. Among them - unrepeatable MonPlaisir palace in Dutch style constructed & adored by Peter himself. The palace stands right near the sea - just in a few meters from the coast. Marli & Hermitage are the other small palaces with great history & absolutely wonderful outlook.

CATHERINE’S PALACE & PARK The Tsar’s Village, is one of the most famous suburbs of St. Petersburg. Its gardens and parks were laid out by the best gardeners. Its palaces and pavilions were built by the most talented architects and decorated by the best Russian and foreign sculptors, painters and craftsmen. Unique collections of art were gathered in the Catherine palace. The majestic building extending over more than 300 meters became the compositional center of the whole palace and park complex. The town was renamed in 1937 after Alexander Pushkin.

27/4 St.Peterburgs – Cathedral – Hermitage – Dubai (B) Morning photostop at ST.ISAAC'S CATHEDRAL, One of the finest architectural monuments of the XIX century (architect A.Montferrand), the former principal cathedral of the Russian capital, the largest cathedral in town able to accommodate about 10,000 audience. Then visit The State Hermitage is one of greatest museums in the world. Five historical buildings, including Winter Palace - the residence of Russian tsars, make the basis of the museum complex. The Hermitage keeps about 3 million monuments of culture and art of the European and Oriental peoples, from high antiquity till nowadays: pictures, graphic sheets, sculptures, a richest collections of applied art items, over a million coins and medals, archaeologic materials. Afternoon transfer to airport for flight to Dubai. Midnight arrives Dubai. Overnite.
