“The earliest historical record of makeup comes from the 1st Dynasty of Egypt (c.3100-2907 BC). Tombs from this era have revealed unguent jars, which in later periods were scented.

Unguent was a substance extensively used by men and women to keep their skins hydrated and supple and to avoid the wrinkles from the dry heat.

Please note this astounding historical statement made by this Encyclopedia:

“The history of cosmetics spans at least 6000 years of human history, and almost every society on earth.”

Scripture substantiates that statement:

“That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done. And there is NOTHING NEW under the sun (that shines over the nations of the entire planet). Is there ANYTHING of which it may be said, “See, this is new”? (Ecclesiastes 1:9-10).
