APPENDIX A: LEEDS CITY REGION GROWTH FUND DEAL SHEET 1 2 INTRODUCTION We are pleased to provide this outline summary of the 2015-16 deliverable priority projects and programmes that we have included in the Leeds City Region SEP for funding through the Local Growth Fund (LGF). We see the LGF being the opportunity for Government to co-invest with us to deliver our economic and growth ambitions. The identification of these projects is the culmination of at least 6-9 months appraisal processes (over 2 years in the case of the West Yorkshire Plus Transport Fund) where we have applied significant rigour to reduce the range of projects from very long ‘wish lists’ to a focussed number of specific and deliverable projects across transport, innovation, skills, resource smart, housing and regeneration. This has included, for example, applying a Department for Transport approved modelling process for Transport Projects, and the five cases Treasury Green Book compliant approach to the appraisal of our housing and regeneration schemes. We have provided more detailed business cases within the accompanying appendices as requested for each deliverable project, which has included financial and economic appraisal output tables and risk assessments. Projects have been assessed and subsequently re-assessed for deliverability, economic impact and strategic fit in partnership with all City Region authorities and other project sponsors and co-investors. The resultant shortlist of projects and programmes for 2015/16 set out in our SEP and summarised here therefore has both political endorsement across the City Region partnership including the LEP Board. The LEP Board is therefore confident that the projects and programmes it is submitting in this SEP submission are both viable and deliverable, and offer value for money and will have a major strategic impact on city regional and UK growth. -

2021 Book News Welcome to our 2021 Book News. As we come towards the end of a very strange year we hope that you’ve managed to get this far relatively unscathed. It’s been a very challenging time for us all and we’re just relieved that, so far, we’re mostly all in one piece. While we were closed over lockdown, Mark took on the challenge of digitalising some of Venture’s back catalogue producing over 20 downloadable books of some of our most popular titles. Thanks to the kind donations of our customers we managed to raise over £3000 for The Christie which was then matched pound for pound by a very good friend taking the total to almost £7000. There is still time to donate and download these books, just click on the downloads page on our website for the full list. We’re still operating with reduced numbers in the building at any one time. We’ve re-organised our schedules for packers and office staff to enable us to get orders out as fast as we can, but we’re also relying on carriers and suppliers. Many of the publishers whose titles we stock are small societies or one-man operations so please be aware of the longer lead times when placing orders for Christmas presents. The last posting dates for Christmas are listed on page 63 along with all the updates in light of the current Covid situation and also the impending Brexit deadline. In particular, please note the change to our order and payment processing which was introduced on 1st July 2020. -

The report provides a general forward look of current and planned work, as well as other activity. Scheme Delivery (Please note that delivery dates and traffic management arrangements can be subject to change) A64 We have carried out some significant repairs between Sherburn and Staxton recently, and the work will be completed with some overnight closures for the next few weeks. We have been digging down 300mm to repair the foundation of the road before introducing a new high friction surface to boost safety. There are also new road markings and reflective road studs. We have introduced or extended speed limits in a number of locations as part of our A64 Village Gateway scheme. We have not changed speed limits on the local highway network. Other schemes completed or due to complete by end of March on the A64: Brambling Fields Resurfacing – resurfacing of the carriageway at the eastern end of the Malton bypass East Heslerton Carriageway Reconstruction – substantial reconstruction of the carriageway surface between West and East Heslerton. -

Gypsum is a highly soluble rock and under suitable groundwater flow conditions it can dissolve forming caves and karstic features including collapse and suffosion dolines. These have the capability of causing subsidence damage of the type that affects much of the Ripon area. The guide details the processes involved, the localities visited and some of the remedial measures undertaken. Résumé: Ce guide concerne l'excursion d'une journée ayant pour but d'étudier les géo-aléas liés à la dissolution du gypse à Ripon dans la région du North Yorkshire. Le gypse est une roche hautement soluble et, dans des conditions adéquates d'écoulement de l'eau souterraine, pouvant se dissoudre et engendrer des grottes et formes karstiques telles qu'effondrements et dolines de suffosion. Celles-ci peuvent causer des dégâts de subsidence du type de ceux qui touchent la plupart des alentours de Ripon. Ce guide fournit des explications sur les phénomènes mis en jeu, les localités visitées et quelques-unes des mesures prises pour remédier à ces problèmes.
