Short bio

In 2012, T.T. Sibisi made his first foray into the world of television with the gritty crime drama Mshika Shika. He later joined the writing team for SABC One’s Sci-Fi, Room 9, a role which earned him a SAFTA for best writing. Dedicated to sharpening his versatility, T.T. Sibisi focused on experiencing different genres, including Sitcoms and Soapies. He proudly participated in the writing of various South African favourites such as Skwizas and Isidingo.

T.T. Sibisi co-wrote his début feature Hard To Get with Writer/Director Zee Ntuli, co-produced by Helena Spring and Junaid Ahmed. Hard To Get opened the 2014 Durban International Film Festival and has been selected to screen at the 2014 London International Film Festival. Hard To Get is now available on Netflix.

T.T. Sibisi completed his BA in Motion Picture Medium in 2009 while attending The South African School of Motion Picture Medium. His graduation film, Fulltime, received special mention at the 2009 annual student film awards. His 3rd year experimental film, Chiskop, was selected to be aired on Mzansi Magic in 2010.

Set on further understanding the relationship between Arts and Politics, T.T. Sibisi served as +27 (0)72 511 2050 Assistant Curator to Professor Pitika Ntuli’s sculpture exhibition, The Scent of Invisible Footprints. Later in 2010, he served as First Assistant Director on the set of Bomlambo (Those of The Water), [email protected] awarded Best Fantasy Short at the 2011 New York Film Festival.

T.T. Sibisi looks forward to improving his screenwriting ability. He is passionate about collaborating with young and upcoming talent and enjoys pushing the boundaries of South African storytelling.
