OAKLAND NOTES  The Oakland Athletics have lost their past three games after winning a season-high four games consecutive games…concluded their stretch of 20 consecutive days without a day off today…went 8-12 over that span but were outscored just 78-73 over that span…have a 10-game losing streak against New York, which is an Oakland record for consecutive losses to the Yankees…went 3-3 on this six-game homestand against Baltimore (3-0) and New York (0-3)…begin a 10-game road trip tomorrow through Boston (three games), Baltimore (three games) and Chicago (four games).  Gio Gonzalez had his three-game winning streak snapped and is now 3-1 with a 2.33 ERA (10 er in 38.2 ip) over his last six starts…the streak was one short of his career high of four (twice, last: Aug. 24-Sept. 8, 2010)…is 1-3 with a 6.33 ERA (15 er in 21.1 ip) in four career starts against the Yankees.  has not allowed a run in seven games and 6.2 innings this season and now has a career-high 16.1-inning scoreless streak dating back to 2008…has now gone 33 games and 33.0 innings without allowing an earned run, which is tied for the fifth longest such streak in Oakland history.  Coco Crisp (2 for 3) has tripled in back-to-back games and now has five triples this season, which is tied for second most in the American League.  David DeJesus (2 for 4) is batting .323 (21 for 65) over his last 19 games after hitting .217 over his first 32 games.  Cliff Pennington (0 for 3) had his career and A’s season-high nine-game hitting streak snapped…batted .412 (14 for 34) during the streak.  Josh Willingham (1 for 4) homered in the first inning and is now batting .278 (10 for 36) with four home runs and 12 RBI over his last 11 games.

NEW YORK NOTES  The New York Yankees have won a season-high four consecutive games…have won 11 of their past 15 games after a season-high six-game losing streak…swept their first three-game series of the season and now have four sweeps overall (three two-game sweeps)…are 14-3 in day games this season, which is the best record in the majors…have won their last 10 games against the A’s…it is their longest winning streak against the A’s since they won 14 straight from September 13, 1956 to July 12, 1957…are 4-2 on this nine-game road trip through Seattle (1-2), Oakland (3-0) and Los Angeles (three games).  A.J. Burnett snapped his 11-start winless streak on the road dating back to August 10, 2010…was 0-5 with a 5.64 ERA (38 er in 60.2 ip) over that span…no other Major League starter failed to record at least one win on the road over that stretch (minimum 60.0 ip) and only one had a higher ERA (Pavano, MIN, 6.55 ERA)…is 5-3 with a 3.74 ERA (27 er in 65.0 ip) in 10 careers starts against the A’s.  has now pitched in 1,002 career games, which ties for 14th place on baseball’s all-time games pitched list.  (1 for 4) extended his hitting streak to seven games with a leadoff double in the first inning (9 for 27, .333)…has a .512 (22 for 43) on-base percentage to lead off the first inning this year, which is the highest in the majors (minimum 20 games).  Russell Martin (0 for 3) is on an 0 for 16 streak.  Nick Swisher (1 for 3) hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning and is now 6 for 19 (.316) since snapping his 0 for 16 streak.  (1 for 4) is on a season-high nine-game hitting streak (11 for 37, .297).
